Dolphin Cove is a marine education and dolphin swim facility located in sunny Key Largo, Florida. Visit the Florida Keys and swim with dolphins in natural lagoons open to the Florida Bay.

 

The dolphin swims are available to the public throughout the year and are a great addition to your Florida vacation.

 STRUCTURED DOLPHIN SWIMS: Begin with a 30-45 minute educational briefing aboard an  Everglades alttour boat. During this time you will be able to observe the unique beauty of the back country while learning about dolphin natural history, intelligence, anatomy, and important information about your upcoming dolphin encounter.

 

Dolphin swims take place in the natural lagoon. Swimmers will take turns entering the water and interacting hands-on with the dolphins. All interaction is guided by a dolphin trainer, and one on one contact is guaranteed.

 

Prices: $185 per swimmer peak season*  $165 per swimmer non-peak season*

Non Swimmer Observers: Adults – $10. Children (7-12)- $5. Children under 6 are free.

 

 

Ages: Seven years of age and older. Participants between seven and twelve must be accompanied by a participating parent or guardian. Participants between thirteen and seventeen must be accompanied by an observing parent or guardian.

NATURAL DOLPHIN SWIM:  The Natural Dolphin Swims are a freestyle snorkel program. The dolphins set the pace! The dolphins are not doing trained behaviours in this program. The goal is to keep these dolphin encounters as natural as possible. Swimming with dolphins on their terms means interacting in a more natural way with eye contact and synchronized swimming. If you would like to see the dolphins in a more natural setting while observing their grace, beauty, fluidity and curiosity, then this is the program for you! Swimmers will be able to observe the dolphins around them, but not to reach out and touch them. Any contact that occurs must be initiated by the dolphins. In-water time is 30 minutes. Snorkel gear is provided.

 

Prices:$135 per swimmer.

Non Swimmer Observers: Adults – $10. Children (7-12)- $5.  Children under 6 are free.

 

Ages: Eight years of age and older. Participants between eight and twelve must be accompanied by a participating parent or guardian. Participants between thirteen and seventeen must be accompanied by an observing parent or guardian. Participants must be strong swimmers and be comfortable with mask and fins.

 

DOLPHIN WADE ENCOUNTER:  This  is a waist deep dolphin interaction program which gives you a chance to meet the dolphins up close and personal, while standing comfortably in waist deep water. Thisalt program is fun and easy! The dolphins will come to you for interactive behaviours like body rubs, handshakes or kisses. You will also learn to give them signals and have them do things like dance or sing with you. All interactions with the dolphin family take place while standing in shallow water. The Dolphin Wade Encounter takes place in the natural lagoon. Participants will take turns entering the water and interacting hands-on with the dolphins. All interaction is guided by a dolphin trainer, and one on one contact is guaranteed. Call Dolphin Cove for more details and reservations as spaces are limited.

 

Prices: $125 per swimmer. $10 per adult observer.

 

Ages: Three years & up. Due to the water depth, participants must be at least 4 feet 6 inches tall in order to participate on their own. If they do not meet the height requirement, they must have a participating adult to hold them in the water.

TRAINER FOR THE DAY:  This program offers a behind-the scenes look at the marine mammal facility altand first-hand experience of what an animal handler’s day is like at Dolphin Cove. Accompanied by one of the Dolphin Trainers, participants enjoy a busy half-day of fun activities. Participants will learn the basics of dolphin behaviour and training, learn about food preparation with a fish kitchen experience, observe two feeding sessions and a Structured Dolphin Swim session, attend an educational briefing, have a brief hands-on dolphin encounter, participate in a Natural Dolphin Swim , and receive a Dolphin Cove T-Shirt as a memento.

 

Prices: $630 per participant.

Ages: Thirteen and up. Participants between thirteen and seventeen years of age must have a release form completed by a parent or guardian. All Trainer for a Day participants must be good strong swimmers and be experienced in snorkeling.
