View Full Version : Went to the fair

Yesterday I drove to Wisconsin with my bestest pal to go to a county fair. This is the second only fair I have been to, with the first being several years ago and I don't remember doing much. The reason for the trip was that my favorite artist was playing and I could get 17th row tickets. :smilejig: I was so thankful for my zoom lens!
So, we got on the road around 11am as it was going to take about an 1 hour and 15 minutes to get there. Between the print out directions and Daniel (GPS) we got there with no problems. We had never been to WI.
We arrived, and parked in the middle of the grassy area, it was packed. We got into the fair, walked around, and found lots of animals. I'm not sure if you know this, but animals give off an odor. Whew!
There were goats, ducks, sheep, cows, and chickens...oh my.

With my change of food habits I avoided all the fried fabulous fair food, but I sure did want some. I however enjoyed a few nuts that my friend had purchased and I really enjoyed a blue snow cone.
We only rode the ferris wheel (or the BIG GIANT WHEEL) as they called it. My friend was very afraid, and she only went on as long as I promised not to move around.

There were some booths that had a few interesting things, but I was really there to see my man, Gary!!! Now let me tell ya, I have been trying to see this man for years! He's the only person I have a desire to see in concert. When this opportunity arose I jumped on it.
The concert was awesome! He played for an 1 hour and half. My friend had great seats. I sang my heart out. And screamed at the top of my lungs! Yes, I was a groupie for a little while. Love you Gary! :snap1::smoochboy:

I had such a blast. The concert ended and we tried to find my vehicle. It wasn't easy. :) Then we used to Daniel to get home again. Love you too Daniel. I adore my gps. But you know, GPS sounds so impersonal so I refer to him as Daniel, due to the gps saying that the British male voice is called Daniel. We are very close. ;)

Awww! Great pictures! Glad you got to see your man in concert
The bunny picture is my favorite! Both of my buns used to sleep that way :D

I love that bunny! He was my favorite out of all the bunnies I saw, he was so adorable. He looked like the perfect Cadbury Egg bunny.

You rode the spinning wheel of death? I hate those things.
Now how did you bypass the yummy fair food? That's the only time I eat corn dogs YUM
Glad you got to see your man!

I love ferris wheels. Being able to take photos way up there is always a blast. My friend stared at the pole in the middle of bucket seat thingie.
Trust me, it was so hard to pass up the food, it was everywhere. But I knew that I would get really sick had I even tried it.

Looks like you had fun, great photos.
Cute factor has to go to the bunny and funny factor has to go to the cow licking it's nose.

Thank you! I don't tend to get out much, so I was thrilled to go.
Fairs can be fun, can't they? I like the animal exhibits and the other types of exhibits (food, jellies, quilts, produce, flowers, etc.) the best. I'm not much of a midway person, so we don't often do that part.
You were so right to not give in and eat the fried stuff Foreverducky. I managed to steer clear of scary food on the cruise too and I'm very glad I did! Had enough of "forbidden other stuff" without making myself sick.

That's good news Tink! There's enough 'bad' foods without adding fried. For example, bring on the drinks with umbrellas and desserts. :D
Oh, they had a few really nice booths. They had one with items that would look great for the cabin theme that I would eventually like to have.
Yes, that's where I strayed. :D Not so many umbrellas, but those stemmed glasses with the red wine kept mysteriously being filled... :D Did have some desserts too, and sauces that I don't usually have. It was surprisingly easy to stay on track though. There was always the buffet which featured any number of things I could/would eat.

The never ending glass. I have seen those magical glasses before. :D
