View Full Version : Virgin atlantic reduced premium economy baggages allowance?

Is this true, I heard that virgin have reduced the allowance for premium economy from 2*32 to 2*23 which is the same as economy? I hope not because thats one of the main reasons we upgrade

Economy

Two pieces of luggage per passenger, each weighing up to 23kg (50lbs). When added together, the three dimensions of any piece of luggage must not exceed 158cm (62in).

PE

Two pieces of luggage per passenger, each weighing up to 32kg (70lbs). When added together, the three dimensions of any piece of luggage must not exceed 158cm (62in).

UC

Three pieces of luggage per passenger, each weighing up to 32kg (70lbs). When added together, the three dimensions of any piece of luggage must not exceed 158cm (62in).

Infants

Infants not entitled to a seat are entitled to one piece of checked baggage weighing no more than 10 kg and with dimensions of 9 x 14 x 22 ins. They are also entitled to one piece of hand luggage weighing no more than 6kg. This is over and above the buggy or bassinet or car seat, which are carried free of charge.

It is true see this link Virgin Atlantic Airways - Popup (http://www.virgin-atlantic.com/en/gb/passengerinformation/baggage/newpolicy.jsp) the new allowances come into effect on 23rd September 2009 - the economy allowance is not affected.

Yes, they told us this at check in at MCO a couple of months ago.
When we next go out on Sept 16th we will be in UC [thanks to the Flying Club miles] so fortunately we are allowed 3 cases which we will probably need for all the stuff we normally bring back with us!
