I'm guessing it's the battery.....and I don't *think* they can be replaced. How long have you had it?

It's a first generation mini ipod so it is old. It's sitting on one of those little speaker things so it should get power from there but it's still dead.

Animal Control had an ANSWERING MACHINE on. So when it got worse we had to call the police department...who, well, yes, put it out of its suffering. I'm sick over it at the moment. It was a baby skunk and it was just suffering so much....anyway enough of that...back to your ipod.

I had to "reset" mine the other day (holding down the top of the wheel and the middle button) and it didn't erase my music...not sure if that's what you're talking about....
