Sky channel 246. Just adore this show and those houses are gorgeous! Why don't we do something like this in the UK? :(

Not quite but actually, they do some great work in 60 minutes  I mean, you can't complain when you know the make over can only take an hour, you don't expect miracles.

We could never build a house in the UK inside a week. Planning takes months and we build houses so differently here using bricks, foundations etc. From what I can tell from Extreme Makeover Home Edition is they use wood frames and stucco exteriors for the most part. I loved the earlier episodes.

Because we build our houses properly and don't just nail a lot of wood together.

I love this programme - but we'd have to have Ty Pennington over here if we were to make the show over here - as it's him that really makes me watch it, I think he's great and he's overcome so much to get where he is today - as I have a son with ADHD its quite heartening to watch someone who has turned his boisterous nature into a career

Fantastic show. We love to watch it when in the US as it's usually a 2 hour show and you get to see more of the build and what goes into it.
Liked the one last week where they built a home in 53 hours 54 minutes.

I love it as well. I read last week that Ty and the team did come over. And they couldn't get over the lack of team spirit and how to put up a wall say took a 3 hour conversation and 2o men/women to decide how,why and where.

Yes, I didn't want to say, but Ty was there and it was a real "issue" trying to get things done. :sorry: It was the rules, regulations and permits and the like. We have those here too, but don't seem to be quite so hard to obtain. I don't recall how it ever ended up, with the house in the UK, but anyway, that's what I remember.

He came to Cornwall to rebuild a childrens play area. It took over a week and people were not as giving as in the USA.

Now that's sad and that's why I LOVE Americans... they have BIG hearts X

Part of the issue in Cornwall was decision by committee. Definitely cramped Ty Penningston's style--and schedule! It was interesting to watch the different perspectives. :)

Its so funny you grrrrrr the people in your country. I grrrr people here in the US all the time. Our country is in such a hurry all the time. It drives me bonkers. One of my biggest grips going to WDW. The people who scream @ their children b/c they are exhausted from doing too much or b/c they are running late for something. Go somewhere else for vacation if you want to be rude & make everyone miserable. WDW is for fantasy & escape.

I completely agree with you on WDW. I like to take it all in.

it's certainly more of a can do attitude in the US and people will generally help you when you need it.

I like to take it all in at WDW too
