What situation/smell/sound etc makes you say to yourself "I am here" when you are in Florida?
You know what I mean....you take a deep breath and give a contented sigh....you are actually here after all the planning and saving.

For me, it is right at the beginning of the holiday when we get our first blast of Florida air and sunshine at the airport....I am so content to have arrived!
Also listening to the voice on the monorail "stand clear of the doors"

For me, it used to be the WDW arch that you drive beneath when entering the property. I knew then that I was "home" and it was going to be all out fun for days!

Now, it's hearing "Welcome Home" at the DVC resorts.

In Ireland it was the soft mist on my face at 7:00 AM that first morning as we exited the airport. The air was incredibly fresh, and the mist was gently in the air. I knew I was home then, you see.:ashamed008:

Yep DW always says the same, she knows she's "there" when she goes under the arch

I can't wait for that - I know I will cry :lol:The same as I did when they announced us when we got on the Disney Wonder last year

Yep for me it's the heat and the cleanliness at MCO and the Welcome to Walt Disney World signs. I also love that first ride on the Monorail - I want that mans voice on my Sat Nav

Awww, Lisaw. :hug1: It does put an instant smile on your face!!! At OKW everyone from the gate guard to the check in CMs tell you "Welcome Home" when you first arrive! It's wonderful!

You are so going to love your DVC. :9:

....there is this scent of the sunscreen that I used to use on the kids.....I swear I could never smell it when we were in Florida...but when we could home, and I'd unzip our suitcases to unpack, that scent would just envelope me and I'd be transported right back to Main Street itself.

The smells in the candy store on main street also pull me right back in....

LOL -when we arrive back after a month in the Florida heat and humidity I love the fact that a 7am you can feel that freshness in the air and the soft Irish mist

This is me to a tee! The warmth has a smell about it that I only ever smell as I step out of Orlando International Airport! And the monorail announcement gives me goosebumps.

Its the welcome arch for me too. It feels fantastic when you see the sign and you know you are in for a cool time at disney.

When I hear the humming sounds of the crickets I know I am in Florida. :p015::p015:

For us it is when we reach MGM , walk up towards ToT and hear those frenzied screams. I start to run then. I cant wait to get inside and do the first drop. Im sure that sounds a little weird to some. :bounce022:

I am so with you on the palm trees, just seeing them from the plane windows is enough to say Fla./Disney for me.
