Hello all,

I read this (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/8230504.stm) article earlier today. It looks like Disney are buying Marvel.

I wonder where that leaves Universal? Islands of Adventure's best bits are Marvel-themed. Do you think they'll keep the same rides but re-theme them?

I was wondering that exact thing! What will happen to all that Marvel stuff at Universal.

I'm not thrilled about Disney buying Marvel. I don't want to see Spiderman or Ironman walking around Epcot. I like my disney characters. Yes, I know that Disney bought the Muppets a while ago, but they seem to fit in Disney. Spiderman doesn't.

Maybe, they are cleverly disguising that they also bought Universal for that $4Billion.

There was a note in one article I read about Universal keeping the rights east of the Mississippi River and Disney having the rights west of the Missisippi River.

I hope they don't put Marvel in any Disney park it just isn't right.

I was reading about this and on the same page was this, it did make me LOL.

I have to agree ,dont think that our grandchildren would stand in a line to see Spiderman or the Haulk as they do for the Disney Snow Whites and Mickey Mouse's.

Here is another article:

Disney to Buy Comic Book Maker Marvel for $4 Billion (Update4) - Bloomberg.com (http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601082&sid=am7zrEZNo1yY)

My guess is this is Disney's answer to losing out on Harry Potter. I don't think anyone has anything to worry about with Superheros showing up on Main Street, World Showcase or The Tree of Life. If and when they have Marvel characters up and about it will be at a DHS expansion and/or a new 5th park IMO.

I guess as I get older I want the same thing-it is fun with the main Disney like Mickey and Minnie. I want the others like Spiderman or Ironman more out in the open so that we see them more. Kids love them.

When we were at WDW a short while ago one of the CM`s told me that the area under construction at MK was to accommodate some Marvel themed rides.
Dunno how reliable this source was though.

Wow..that would be really weird

I'm thinking the area under construction in MK would be for the new Princess stuff, dumbo ride, and under the sea ride thing. Yes, that is the official name
