Yesterday, Thursday 17th September, a worker doing maintenance on a disneyworld bus noticed a suspicious object about 3 p.m. and alerted authorities, the Sheriff's Office said.

The bomb squad and a hazardous material team came to the maintenance facility in a back-stage area.

The resort suspended bus service as a precaution and was checking hundreds of its business, a Disney spokeswoman said at 5:30 p.m. At 8 p.m., Disney said all the buses were running again.

I don't think my aunt noticed any difference around that time. I will have to ask her. I'm glad that they were so on top of it!

Scary but you have to realise WDW is a target I guess and you can never be too careful.

Suspended bus service? Of course, that was the correct thing to do, but can you imagine what that must have been like?

It was pretty chaotic for a lot of people. Luckily we didn't get caught up in it. :-)

My aunt was at Shades of Green during this time and used their bus system, so she didn't even notice.

I cannot verify the truth to the following but it supposedly came from a gentleman who was the lone rider on one of the buses after service was restored and he had a conversation with the driver.

Apparently a relatively new maintenance worker was working on an older bus and saw something he didn't think belonged there. He called over his supervisor who apparently was also relatively new and didn't think it belonged there. Turns out it was the device on the older buses that opens the gates going into the different parks and resorts.

it was pretty chaotic

buses took ages to come, and once they did they would do extra stops....
