I'm hoping you'll share pictures of your pumpkins with us all (no sniggering at the back!).

I'll kick us off.

Grim Reaper (Hard to see until you spot it)

It's wierd thinking that Jade was still pregnant with Niamh when we made those!

We didn't get the chance to carve this year because our pumpkins went mushy just before Halloween and we didn't see the point in getting more. Was a crazy year for pumpkins around here. But I did make these for the kids and Katie was pretty happy.:)

Those are very nice, Shellyamc! We didn't get a photo of our pumpkin. :sigh: Seth's Da carved a hanging bat and it came out really nicely!

We have a second pumpkin and have decided to keep it for Thanksgiving when we'll carve a turkey into it. Well, I'll direct and Herself will carve. I am NOT the family artist!

Aw, those are great! The Mickey Pumpkin is very impressive.

Now I'm really sad because Halloween day & the days prior to it were really busy for us & we didn't get around to carving or having the kids paint the pumpkins we bought :( They are getting older now & not as into doing this as they used to be which means they are not as vocal about 'when are we going to do it'! lol.

Do them for Thanksgiving Cristine. That's what we are doing for much the same reasons. We bought two big ones, but ran out of time on Halloween, so only had the one carved.

You could encourage your kiddos to do something for the holiday, centerpiece like for your porch or other outside area? Depending upon how large the pumpkins are you could do them (or one?) for the table.

Well, my first thought after getting sad on Halloween night that we didn't carve them was 'at least I can still use them for Thanksgiving decorating now' lol. We bought one that is HUGE & shaped really beautifully. If you have any suggestions on what they could do with them, let me know. I'm afraid I'm not very craft-y.

Make it into a big turkey for the front porch! :D :D I'm not a real crafty/artistic person either....

I'd probably end up putting some other fall things around it and calling it a still life.

I'm sure there are other members here who will have much better ideas than I can come up with!

haha, Martha Stewart I am not. I'll probably take the big one & put it on the table on the porch & wrap my fake fall leaves around it. I may still let the girls paint on the smaller ones, maybe have them put what they are thankful for or something.

Oh gosh! That's a GREAT idea!!!! Have the entire family paint on the big one what you are all thankful for, and then have the kiddos do their personal ones for the table!

Maybe we aren't Marthas but we know what matters, eh? I really, really like your idea!

Thanks :)

Maybe I'll buy some Sharpies of different colors. I paint so poorly that I'm not sure any of my words would be legible! lol ;)

Sharpies would be great. I can't paint to save my soul, but I can do calligraphy, so that might be an idea here too.
