Mouse on the Move is a new feature for the Secrets forums.
Sometimes when we're out and about we'd like to tell our forum friends where we are, what we're doing a bit like facebook, but we don't want to have to try and login with our phone.
Mouse on the Move is a new system which allows you to send a simple email which will get posted to the forum.
You can even take a quick shap with your phone, send it and it'll appear here!
We hope that we'll get some live Disney snapshots and reports but equally if you're out and about, why not email a quick status update or photo and tell us what you're up to :D
It's really easy to do, just use your phone, desktop, laptop to send an email to: live@wdisneysecrets.com
There are some things to remember:-
1. You must send the email from the email address you used to sign up to the forum. That's how we know it's you!
2. You must type at least a couple of characters before any picture to get it accepted
3. Try and keep the photo size reasonable so it doesn't take too long for people to load
4. Emails are copied into the forum at set intervals roughly every 10mins so don't worry if your post takes a few minutes to show up :)
5. Don't forget to type a subject for your post
That's it! We hope this new feature will make it easier to interact with the forums when you're a Mouse on the Move :D
ps. feel free to test it out, we'll delete the tests at the end of each day

Well... I just gave it a shot from my iPhone. We'll see how it plays.
Does sound like a neat addition though!
Tom (:macwave:... waiting... waiting...)
Edit: Works good!

Keith,
I just noticed that it took all the text after my picture (signature and iPhone blub) and rather than including it in the post directly, it added it as a text attachment. Is this how it's supposed to work? :questionmark:
Tom (:macwave:... puzzled, he is!)

Hmmm... don't know how I did that? Sorry about the pseudo double post.

I saw that too Tom... I think for the moment the answer is "put any text before the image" :) but I've noted it to see if it's something we can change for the future

you need to put a subject in your email too otherwise it returns it to you in error.

Hmm tried a couple but it didn't work - I assume its becuase it was a home e-mail account and not my work one - no way that will work on a mobile so it doesn't look like I can play :sigh:
Change the email account that you are using here. That's what Becca did. That's what I'm going to do too, since the work phone is picking up my work signature. I'll just switch to my other account.

What she said :)
Kinda nice too, because now when I get a pm here on the boards, I get a text message alert.

Not sure if it is possible to retrieve my photo from the mouse inbox

Can someone tell me where I'm going wrong please? I'm trying to send a picture from my iPhone and I get this email -
Hello Claire,
We're sorry, but we could not process your emailed reply / new thread.
You tried to upload a file with the extension type of JPG. That extension type is not permitted.
Thank you,
Disney Secrets Forums
What do I need to do to send the picture successfully?
Thank you!

its probably something really daft like you have JPG in upper case, try naming it picture.jpg in lower case?

I don't write anything jpg-ish Keith. I took the picture, select email picture then I just fill in the subject and a line of text above the picture and then send.
