Thanks

I really like the Contemporary and the magic Kingdom resorts because it's so easy to get to Magic Kingdom from them

I would LOVE to try a MK resort one day, does anyone know any good deals????

We stay at the all stars and have tried every one of them! movies is our favourite although they're all good.

People say they're noisy but I think it adds to the excitement

Animal Kingdom Lodge for me every time :D I love getting some room service and watching the animals from the balcony. It's so peaceful but yet the theming is the best anywhere. The AKL DVC villas are great too, they ave their own savannah

Polynesian for us too! The staff there are really wonderful especially in concierge although it is expensive

We had a great room watching the fireworks last time and it was just really magical

We always stay at pop century! It's new, cheap, close to EPCOT and hollywood studios :)

We've stayed at different ones but keep coming back to POP

It has to be the wilderness lodge for me. I got married at disney at the wedding pavilion and the first week of the honeymoon we stayed at the lodge.

Great memories which will stay in my heart forever. :D:D

I really have a soft spot for the Wilderness Lodge :)

We stayed there when we got married at Christmas (followed by the Polynesian) and it'll always be special to me. Although it's not on the monorail, it's only a short boat ride away from the Magic Kingdom

Not done on-site yet. DH needs more persuading. Given the choice I would choose The Beach Club for the fab pool.

Absolutely Claire! I LOVE the Beach Club. It is my favorite deluxe. Can't vote for it though as it's not on the list! :D

I've stayed at the Pop Century, and All Stars too and really enjoyed my time there.

Wilderness Lodge was lovely, and we really like Artist Point.

OKW is our home resort, so that is my number one DVC.

Are you getting the idea that I have a hard time naming favorites? LOL.

But for DVC it's OKW, and for deluxe it's BC (the first resort that I stayed at, so that is part of it too, I'm sure).

I've stayed at BWV and wasn't too impressed. It's handy enough to EPCOT, and I'd not say no if it were the only vacancy, but it's not our favorite DVC.

Been to SSR too. Liked it well enough! The walk to DTD is nice. It's enough like OKW (in the vastness of it) that we felt rather at home, but different enough to feel, well, different. LOL.

Hoping to try the AKL villas and maybe even some of the other deluxes some day.

I have not voted as we have only stayed at two onsite hotels but The WL is good as it is just one Building although the pool was too hot for me and not refreshing at all, otherwise we have atayed at Dixey Landings which I think is nor POR I liked it but the main restaurant (Boatwrights) there was not to my taste.

We now struggle to fit in a standard hotel room as my DS is 17 and buillt like a brick outhouse and my DD is 11 this year so the standard two double beds don't work and he is too big really for bunk beds, therefore a Villa is the best option. I would like to stay in a DVC apartment in the Boardwalk or similar but the price comparisons are not close enough.

Have only stayed at ASMo and POR and loved both of them, out of the two though definitely POR just for the beauty and peacefulness of the grounds and I loved the carriage ride and the boat to DTD especially in the evening.

Get to stay at AKL (my dream resort - never thought in our wildest dreams we would get to stay there)in our DVC for the first time and I am so excited as I love the resort, am so excited about having brekkie on the balcony

Ooh I can't wait. :D

I know a lot of people don't like it because it's dark and far from everything but there is just something about the whole place that I love and we always have a car so location doesn't worry us. On our visits there I loved chatting to the CM's about the animals and their home countries - they are so friendly and informative, and Boma is one of my fav onsite restaurants for breakfast and dinner, can't wait to see what the new Kidani village offerings are.

I'm rambling a bit now can you tell I'm excited :HamsterDance:

It's a 5-10 minute walk between the two resorts main buildings, and it's a lovely walk along the river, there is also a boat that takes you between them as well :)

I love both AKL and WL because they're "proper" hotels  all in one building which I prefer.

Can't say I've ever had smells from boma/jiko in the hotel or rooms though.

WL though, wow, when you come back from the parks you just feel like youre in a more relaxed world :) GREAT artist point restaurant which is usually quiet. It's not as dark as AKL either and of course, boat to and from the Magic Kingdom

Thanks for adding the BC!!! :D

I love both resorts. I've only stayed at WL though.

Jodie, the scents from the restuarants are done deliberately. Periodically, a chef with a smoking pan of spices and herbs will walk through the restaurants and the lounge (Victoria Falls) scenting the air with the aroma. It really is very nice!! I'm allergic to perfume and end up in sneezing fits with watery eyes and dreadfully stuffy head (not to mention instant pounding headache) so have become very leery of any scents. The spices at AKL do not bother me at all. :o

Next time you are at WDW stop by both the AKL and WL for a visit!

You've never seen the chef do this, Keith? It's a simple thing, but pretty neat!

We were in the lounge once and a small group at a nearby table thought the chef was bringing appetizers! LOL!

I havent!!! and I would have thought the same

Actually that's what I do wish they'd do at more Disney lounges, offer some better food!

It's great at Mizners lounge (Grand floridian) and crew cups lounge (Yachtsmans) because they both have virtually a full food menu from nearby restaurants! In May we exited Epcot after the fireworks and went for a nice drink at Crew Cup and noticed the new cut down menu from yachtsmans. We had the BEST meal there! Fully served with bread, nice yachtsman's settings etc. Just enough for us :)

Tink

Yes, that is so true!

We LOVE the Crew's Cup Lounge and Mizners! :smiley4: They are wonderfully relaxing places and you can have a nice impromtu meal there. Something for folks to remember in this day of ADRs or no service! :)

Since we've stayed at all the value resorts and one moderate resort (and we liked it there so much that's the one we always choose) and the Disney Inn, Disney Institute, and the campgrounds, I voted for POFQ. We love the campgrounds but since that wasn't an option I chose POFQ.

No fears about Pop Century! It's neat, clean and good fun! I've stayed there 4 out of 9 visits in the past 5 years. Prior to that, stayed at Club Lake Villas, which was part of the Disney Convention Center way back when!

I didn't vote, as my favourite varies with my needs. Pop Century wins hands down for good value on a budget. Which is what my recent visits have been. :)

The only moderate I've stayed at is CSR. Loved the resort in general, but didn't like either Maya or Pepper Market. But I'm a very picky eater, so don't hold my opinion against a terrific resort!

I've stayed at YC and CR (standard tower room) and enjoyed both for different reasons. CR 'cause I always wanted to stay there and love the proximity to MK. YC because it's very comfortable and is convenient to EPCOT & DHS.

Going to have to work on expanding my lodging horizons in the future!
