The top bit snaps off and all you have is a tiny little card on a coil :)

One caveat...the coil was a bit tight at first, but loosened up forthwith

So, how was the card used....I'm a little confused. I've never been to the festival, even though I have been wanting to go.

Ok talk me through where do you buy it and do you just pre load it with credit.

Ok. So you can purchase them at pretty much any kiosk or gift store in the World Showcase. You'll even see signs at each country's kiosk saying that you can buy them/load them/reload them right there. The cards themselves are free, and you can load them with as much (or as little  ) money as you would like (up to $1500). After you've loaded your card with money, you simply make purchases as you normally would. When you pay you simply remove your handy dandy card (which is conveniently dangling from your wrist), they CM will swipe it in the same way they swipe your credit card or room key and your total will be deducted form your balance. Virtually every kiosk/store/counter service etc accepts them, and after each purchase you will see a remaining balance on your receipt. You can also use them anywhere else on Disney property. I used mine at the Pop Century gift store, Downtown Disney, Magic Kingdom etc.

Easy Peasy.

Perhaps a little TOO easy

Yep, easy peasy describes it. I got one myself.

It's much easier than getting out your room key or credit card/cash every time.

That is very cool! And those are strictly for the food and wine festival right? With the left over money being able to be used in other places on disney property.

It can be used just about anywhere in Disney. I used the last $10 or so at the Christmas store in DTD.

No, I specifically asked that question FD. They are good any time and they never expire. I put $100 on mine twice. Off hand I don't remember what my ending balance is.

LOL, well mine was certainly ZERO :)

However I did ask the CM if I brought it back with me in December if I could use it and she said absolutely, she just didn't think they'd be available for "first timers" after the F&W Festival was over.

if you wanted the money back could you get it?

Beccaberry

No, it's "non-refundable"

But what I did find is that you could use the balance on your card to settle your hotel charges at the front desk of your resort.

Or, you know, consider it your first installment for your return trip
