Just back from the midnight showing :)

Struggling to know what to say without all the fans strangling me

No, it was great it really was but it was very Bella centric (fine for me but I sense the Edward fans would've liked a bit more of him)!

Every time Edward came on screen there were screams around the cinema.

The strange thing is, not a lot actually seemed to HAPPEN and yet it was quite long but I felt strangely satisfied by it. I want to say it was too long but it wasn't and I did enjoy it. weird indeed.

I would say though that I bet the book is FAR FAR better. I get the sense that a lot was left out of the movie

Anyway, enjoyed it :)

I have not read the books yet. I keep waiting for Alysia to bring them to me. Nor have I seen the movies.

Alysia tells me this and the 3rd are the worst books in the series so I can't imagine the movie is all that great.

I haven't read them either or seen the film. Being a big wuss, a film about vampires is not on my must see list.

Saw it at midnight as well - completely different feel from the first film, much bigger budget, felt more blockbuster than small teen movie

I'm a big fan so not surprisingly I loved it - very true to the book and yes Edward is in it enough

Thought Taylor did a great job as Jacob, loved the way they got Bellas thoughts across which is something I was worried about as the book is so much inside Bellas head.

Now I've seen it and checked out its suitability I can take the kids next week :D

Bring on Eclipse!!!

I thought they showed Bella's thoughts very well indeed  and she's really good too!

I do think seeing the first movie is a must before seeing this one (for people who havent necessarily been such a fan yet)

The first movie wasn't nearly as good as the book I felt. The book was much much better. Wasn't fussed too much about seeing this one but if they have a bigger budget then it does sound like it's going to be better than the first rubbishy movie.

Lisa,

Baleigh is downright BEGGING me to see it tonight, I was hoping to wait until I'd seen it first before agreeing. But you're saying you think it was ok?

I'd love to take her this evening...

Caitlin is 9 and I will take her - she has seen Twilight at the cinema and was fine - couple of bits to watch for like Bella having her arm sewn up, and the Volturi are a bit threatening, big fight seen at the end that is fairly violent but just lots of throwing around the floor really. Don't remember much in the way of swearing or anything.

We are all different obviously as to what we think is OK for our children but I don't think it is any worse than Doctor Who and tbh that scares my 11 year old son sometimes and that is shown here at 7pm.

I saw it at the cinema this morning, LOVED IT!! I can't believe it ended like that and that was it, NOOOOOOOO! I haven't read the books and am seeing the film then reading the book.

I am half way through the first one and to be honest I prefer the way the film tells the story, some of the scenes the book does it just don't seem right, but I am enjoying it.

I can't wait for Eclipse in June, bring it on!!!! :D

I went to see New Moon today.

While I thought some of the lines were hokey, I still enjoyed it. I love the birthday scene and when you first see the wolves! Can I have one of my very own?

I have read all the books and find it hard to pick a favourite as I loved them all, they are all different but at a push I would say probably New Moon and Breaking Dawn were my favourites.

I haven't read the books, so am reading the books after I've seen the film. I'm about half way through the first book, although I must admit I do prefer how the film plays out certain parts, but thats just me. Hubby is buying me the next 3 for Christmas so I can read them as and when.

lisaw

Because the majority of the books is played out in Bellas head a lot of detail is left out from the films although I do think they did a really good job of getting it across in New Moon

I watched a bootleg copy of it a couple weeks ago at a friend's house (a friend of a friend of a friend knew someone...) I don't think I would've paid the 10 bucks at the theater. It was pretty good, though. Kept close to the story in the book. They pretty much covered the whole thing.
