The new Sum of all Thrills is a simulator attraction that allows you to create a ride design, and then get onto a robot arm mounted simulator pod to test drive the attraction!
The height requirement is confirmed to be 48" if a ride profile with no inversions is chosen, and 54" with inversions.
The ride is now open in EPCOT Innoventions

So cyberspace mountain then
How do they control the height requirement once the person is in, I wonder?
Yep, sounds that way. Cyber space mountain, or big thunder mountain railroad, or... what'evah.

We saw this yesterday, I can't remember if there was a height restriction or not, there were some warnings though. I have some photos and information on it but it's all packed in the case which is on the truck at DTD :(
From what I can remember, you design your ride, then two people can sit side by side and a cover comes down over the front of them - not so good if you are claustrophobic  The robotics arm then moves all over the place, sideways, up and down, forwards and backwards. All the while you are watching the ride you designed on the screen in front of you in you "pod"

Yeah, I will never be able to do this as I am way claustrophobic in those pod things. Found out the hard way at a NASCAR Cafe' once in Myrtle Beach. I always knew I was to a point but that was when I realized I crossed over to the bad point. I'm not so bad, though, I can't ride in an elevator, hehehe.
But this & Mission Earth won't be experiened by me anytime soon ;)

yeah they did. I can remember watching a special (don't laugh!) on the group NSync that was on the Disney Channel..must have been 1997 I guess...and it showed Justin & one of the other guys doing this because I remember thinking then, I could never do that! lol

It does sound exactly like CyberSpace Mountain doesn't it - we'll have to try it next year.
Wonder if that means they are finally going to close down DQ?

They did have something similar at DQ and I must say that I am very THANKFUL for that ride.
Alysia would not ride anything coaster like at all till she made her own coaster at DQ and rode it. She's been my little thrill junky since.
