Hi all

Well we are back after a most magical trip to Florida and i thought you might like a few of our highs and lows. I will do a trippy at some point in the near future and add some piccys for those that might be interested.

Highs

Virgin Atlantic from LGW to MCO and back again! left bang on time both flights and got us into LGW this morning 1/2 an hour early Fantastic service from the cabin crew both ways decent food (By airline standards)
can't praise them enough.

Disney's Beach Club Wow! what a resort, it has fantastic pool (Stormalong Bay) A great beach overlooking Disney's boardwalk (5mins walk) 10 mins stroll to Epcot 5 mins stroll to boat to Disney's Hollywood studios which takes 25 mins.

Disney movies on the beach every evening great for kids (and adults too!)

Getting a free upgrade to concierge level at Disney's Beach club with a water/Spaceship Earth view because it was our 12th wedding anniversary.
the free food and drinks in the Stone Harbour Club were really good. (More on that in the trippie)

There are lots of other things about the Beach club that are fantastic but i will add those to my trippy.

The Disney dining plan is so worth the money it is more food than we could eat and the snack portion can be used in the shops for certain items up to the value of $4 (eg. Pez dispensers or boxes of character cookies)

Expedition Everest Just WOW:jawdrop:

Lots of other things too many to mention here :surrender:

Lows

Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party! It poured with rain all day and Disney should have cancelled it an gave us a refund or a credit note for another night of our choice but no we all had to stand around waiting for stage shows that never happend and parades and fireworks that were 1/2 an hour late trying to fit them in between the rain storms. We left the park at 10 past 10 soaked to the skin and at $56 each it was a little hard to swallow. To be honest i am not sure it is good value for money rain or no rain i don't think we would do it again.

The prices have gone up so much since we were last there i know it it the same everywhere but we did notice a real hike this time.

Not much else really. Can't wait to get back

Thanks for reading

I agree with all you said about Beach Club. It's hard to beat isn't it. Did you happen to partake in the "Kitchen Sink" at Beaches 'n Cream??

I hate your Xmas party experience was so bad because honestly if you hadn't had the rain I think you would have loved it. We've done the Xmas party a few times & always left feeling very happy. I do admit, the admission to these are getting a little steep sadly.

It is very hard to beat i agree and i will tell for a year i have had every intention of having a "Kitchen Sink" and then i got there and saw one made OMG there must be a pint of cream in there! So i am afraid to say i chickened out :embarassed:

DId you go to the party last Friday? That whole day was just horrible! IT was supposed to be our AK day and we never made it to that park at all this trip!

The rest of your vacation sounds lovely!! What locations did you eat at??

OMG yes it was last Friday and guess what we tried to do AK in the morning as well. We managed to do Everest and the lion king and Tough to be a bug but by then we were soaked so gave up went back to the hotel got dry then went to the Christmas party and got soaked again :hissyfit:

The restaurants we ate at were

Cape May's Cafe Beach club:- All you can eat Dinner
Ohana's:- At the Poly All you can eat Character breakfast
The Coral Reef:- Epcot Lunch
The Grand Floridian Cafe:- Dinner
The California Grill:- Contemporary Dinner
The Garden Grill:- Epcot All you can eat Character Dinner

I would recommend all of them wonderful food
All on the dining plan. Great value for money

Steve hi, I was at the BC at the same time as you on concierge level and I didn't know you were there. It was good to see Michelle on the flight home although I was downgraded to PE as the later flight had been cancelled but was very well compensated for it. I agree with you about the rotten day. I went to AK that day and ended up coming home as I got totally soaked. BC was as good as ever and concierge was great. I'm now starting to plan for next October

OMG it is such a small world (after all). It would have been great to have had a little meet! I am glad VA compensated you well and so they should. Which room in the BC were you in we were in 5700 it was our first time there and i have to say it was lovely and to be honest i think it will be the only place for us. Just think we could have been sat next to each other in the Stone Harbour Club eating melon and banana nut muffins or hand cooked chips and sugar coated pretzels OMG i am reminiscing already. Good luck with the plans. I am afraid we have a big family Greece trip next year so no Disney for us :sigh:

see ya

Well, sounds like you had mostly a lovely time. The Beach Club is a beautiful resort, isn't it? Very nice that you were upgraded to concierge for your anniversary! Happy Anniversary by the way!

Looking forward to reading your report.

It's horrible in Florida when it does one of those all day rain things. :( It's really too bad that it happened on your MVMCP day. :sigh:

You are not going to believe this but I was in 5666 just 2 doors away. Concierge was great wasn't it. I loved the food that they put out at 5.00pm every night plus of course the wine etc. We're going back there next year but unfortunately won't be able to afford concierge this time but hey ho the BC is such a great hotel
