I misspoke earlier today and called him Walt's brother. :sigh: Same name...

Rest in peace, Mr. Disney.

:( Sad news.

We chatted about it at the dinner table tonight and Baleigh asked if there was *anyone* left in the world with the last name of Disney. She said she didn't think she could bear it if the world had no Disney's in it.

Sad time :(

Walt's brother Roy came out of retirement to make sure that Walt Disney World opened in Oct 1971. Roy died a few months after that.

Roy E. was Walt's nephew and the spitting image of Walt. RIP Roy.

Disney is not an uncomon name, I have certainly come accross a few in my time belive it originates from D'Isigny ( or something similar) frmo a villiage in France. There is a town in Lincoln called Norton Disney - always wanted to live there

For those of us born in the post Walt Disney era he will always be 'our' Walt - he was always on TV here being interviewed and as said above he had an uncanny resemblance.

What we must remember is the legacy goes on and will never die

Lets face it thats why each and everyone of us is sat logged on here today..

Well, it is what brought us together, true. I think more glue than Disney holds us together though. Not casting aspersions on the pixie dust mind, just acknowledging that we have an awesome group of members!

So, thank you Mr. Disneys (all three!) for that.
