Oh for those not getting what this is about its called an astro trac - its a piece of fantastic equipment that will go on a normal photographic tripod and allow you to take fantastic space pics with your normal camera without the need for a telescope or any sort of astronomical mount

like all great inventions it was designed by men in sheds in Britain!

which also means it will probably break

It's only fair that everyone else starts spending so much money on tech, especially since we give Chris a polite nudge oh-so-often! :rotfl:

LOLOLOLOL! But of COURSE he is! :D :D

The British have been known for design for centuries. Truly. From Christopher Wren to Barnaby St. eh?

Of course, there are those pesky French and Italian designers of clothes and cars. :D :D :D

You are no doubt referring to Jonathan Paul Ive, CBE.

And a fine job he does too!

It wasn't really supposed to be about ergonomics anyway , Britain has a subculture of men in sheds who cobble together solutions to prolems that would probably make them a lot of money if they put it to comercial use - the chap who made the astrotrac has started to make some money but the idea behind his pan is so simple it is amazing an the acuracy it tracks stars accross the sky is stunning
