You know? I've never seen one single episode of Dr. Who. :embarassed: It's a much loved show here, I just have never had the chance to see it.

pssttt..is Michelle (Figment) around? No..ok then

I hated Dr. Who!! For the longest time..honest!! I don't think she knows that  Dh grew up watching it with his Mom and they adore it. One day being the wonderful wife I am (stop laughing :P ) I sat down to watch it with him and bam! I honest to God love it now. The really old ones still don't really do it for me, but the story line is so different and so unique. I have crossed over :surrender: and become a Dr. Who fan

You might want to give it a shot, Tink, you really might like it.

Now having said that, there is one episode that scares me to death and Michelle likes to send me evil pictures of it on facebook :( Not nice..not at all

I just have never had the chance to see it.

If you have a chance to see the David Tennant episodes, right from the start, I think you would enjoy most of them. There were some real classics, such as 'Blink' and 'The Empty Child'
I've watched Dr. Who from the very beginning and it changes constantly.

I don't think Gareth will mind me telling you that he refused to re-watch "Blink" for ages.

Now of course he likes it!

I love Cap'n Jack too - have just started getting into Torchwood finally - I didn't like it at first...

I wasn't much of a Dr Who fan earlier either - DH loves it though and talked me into it! :surrender::yes:

The opening of Blink was just awesome when she peels off the wallpaper and there was the message written decades before for her to duck :D

I'm amazed it does so well in the US - it striokes me its very 'british' not like the slick US Sci Fi's with beautiful people in lycra shooting at each other , infact the Dr refuses to even hold a gun

tap- tap - taptap :D

Tink

So it's Sci Fi then? I'm so uninformed about the show (only know the name, and that fancy scarf... :D ) I don't even know it's general subject content.

Is it meant to be scary? I don't like scary. :lipwobble: I'm a total wimp. :embarassed:

Yes, it surprised me too. Perhaps it's that quirkiness that makes it appealing.

I love British shows as a rule, but haven't ventured too far from the beaten path. Miss Marple, Sherlock, Lovejoy, Herriot, Poirot, shows of that nature. I've watched some of the comedy shows too, but didn't enjoy them as much. (Not much on comedy in general).

Don't get to watch much of anything anymore, and now don't even know what channels the British shows are on!
