This particular photo was taken at Jon's mother's house. She lost every single tree in her yard in the span of 4 hours. Many of which predate her HOUSE even being there (she's lived there for 32 years).

It's a bit sad (more than a bit really)...the two trees you see in the forefront of the photo had a HUGE wooden swing hanging from it that Jon and his sisters practically LIVED in during their younger years...Baleigh had developed quite the affinity for it as well. When we drove up this morning, Jon's disappointment at seeing an icon of his childhood gone was almost tangible :(

Very sad.

Was there a tornado or just a regular storm?

These pictures are so scary!! I'm so happy that you are all safe and sound! That must have been one heck of a storm!

In our old house we had the H U G E tree across the street. You could see it for miles. The village kept offering to take it down, but the woman said no way. She said the tree would outlive her, so she didn't care  It would creak and sway and every time we had a storm we would pray it didn't come down. It would have taken out half the block

It almost looks like they had a micro burst come through those trees. That's some really scary stuff!!

What a storm and isnt it sad to see those lovely trees gone? It reminds me of the terrible damage here when we had the storm of 87. To see all those memories of childhood gone must be heartbreaking.

OMG Becca, with the amount of damage from just the storm glad to hear it wasn't a tornado. So sorry to hear what happened to Jon's mom.
