no, in theory you are allowed to travel to and from france up until the expiry of your passport.

The only problem in this security mad age is if you get a know nothing jobsworth, usually in the UK :nono: who thinks you need more.

In theory you don't even need a passport, we use them in this country as we don't have any other cast iron guarentee of identity like ID cards ( I know I know), but as we are allpart of the EU you don't need a 'passport' to travel between countries - just solid ID

The main issue is getting back in to the uK

This is indeed very very true :yes: right of free travel around the EU is one of the fundamental rights as an EU citizen. In fact, I believe they'll even accept an out of date passport as ID to prove you're a citizen of a member state.

The problem is always going to be the jobsworth in the UK though
