View Full Version : I have found my perfect job

Johnie

I almost fell over when I read it.

It's a Vocational Rehab Counselor for the VA (Veteran's Adminstration). The job is IN ORLANDO! Plus the pay is extraordinary!

I got all excited and then saw the tag where it says open to current VA employees.

But, all my professional contacts tell me to apply anyway and address that in my cover letter.

So, PLEASE WISH ME LOTS AND LOTS OF LUCK!!

Definitely go with the glitter - worked a charm for me remember. And a big ol' smudgy thumbprint in the middle of the form.

Good luck. :pixiedust:

The only way you get flowers when you get off the plane in Hawaii is if you have booked a tour that does that or you know someone over there who can meet you at the airport. Back in the early '90's I flew to Hawaii the first time. Everything I had seen on TV about Hawaii had always shown the flowers bit. I walked off the plane to lots of beauty but no flowers. When Donna went her first time, I made sure that there was someone there to greet her with flowers.

The posting said 4-6 weeks. I would truly be surprised if it was that quick. It took 2 months for me to hear about my current job and that's at the state level.

My mom and dad were both excited for me. Alysia cannot wait to move to FL

Are you still going to look into moving to FL, or was it just a case of this perfect job being located there?

Competition for VA positions, especially in Florida, Arizona and California is FIERCE!!!

You truly do have to "know someone" or be working there as a volunteer already (yeah, right?) to have a serious chance.

Don't stop trying though. You just never know!

If they didn't tell you how your ranking was less than others, ask them to do so. That way you'll have some idea of what you'd need to do with your next application to improve or increase the ranking.
