ok well your 18-55 best for Disney really... 50mm better quality of course but not as flexible.

I guess what you're missing is a medium zoom although you have the 70-300

what i was thinking was a macro for close up stuff

and if i were to replace the kit lens what would you recommend?

keith
18-07-2008, 11:44 AM
what i was thinking was a macro for close up stuff

wellll a proper macro is great but it requires a steady tripod which probably isnt going to be a disney thing.

You could just get a lens which is good at focussing close up

and if i were to replace the kit lens what would you recommend?

Canon EF-S 17-85mm f/4.0-5.6 IS USM really is a wonderful kit lens replacement

oh just thought would you recommend a polarizing filter or the like?

keith

Well either a neutral density filter to take the strong light down a notch or a polarizer to make the sky even more blue ;) either could certainly be used... carefully, in florida

yeah! I mean it's fun to experiment with things like that for sure! just get a decent one not a REALLLLLLY cheap one :) no point having a few hundred or more quid lens with a rubbish piece of cheap plastic or something in front of it ;)

I'd say either the hoya or the b+w (although that's a touch expensive ;)

i was looking at the B+W one because of the multi resistant coating, but i look after stuff like that so i reckon the hoya will suffice tbh :)

It must feel so brill to be paying it off! Well deserved trip you're goin on mate... Mum LOVED people watching when we where on rides, and it gives you a chance to get photos of stuff

A challenge she took was to get a better ride photo (Where possible) than the ones for sale... she failed 99% of the time, but our sheikra one is brilliant... will have to dig that out

Can you try and get some good pics of the torts in aquatica, or busch gardens, thats if you are going of course :p015:
