Looking for romantic things to do on our anniversary in WDW, mainly during the day as we may do Victoria and Alberts. The only thing that puts me off that is the jacket for dh, with the reduced luggage allowance don't really want to waste one piece with a suit carrier- any ideas?

V & As will lend you a jacket if I remember rightly. I'm sure I read that they keep a selection of blazers available for borrowing.

we love watching the fireworks  a walk around epcot after most people have left and back to the hotel for a relaxing drink :wiggle: the california grill on top of that weird looking place is very romantic too :hug2:

ooh, that would solve a problem, can anyone confirm this?

I'm afraid i had a bad experience with the California Grill and shall never return, but thanks for the idea.

I'm torn between doing discovery cove maybe with a cabana, Victoria and Alberts or hiring a private boat for the fireworks- unless i see any more ideas.

V&A is just so good it really really is. (Even though they seem to have changed their water which is not as good and stopped hand writing the names on the menu)

Im pretty sure they still lend out jackets although I just throw a sportcoat in the luggage and wear that.

I doubt the atmosphere can be matched anywhere else on site really

Fireworks cruises are nice, both wishes and illuminations. I think Wishes was perhaps the most romantic but illuminations was sorta closer. Both are pretty hard to book and need doing at exactly the right number of days out.

What happened at california grill??

Cinderella Castle is quite romantic and you get a photo thrown in :-)

I'm with Brit. Stay away from that icky Cali Grill. :sorry:

Romantic? Ummm... well, remember these are coming from me ;)

Segway tour at Fort Wilderness? That would be wicked fun. Herself and I did the EPCOT one for her birthday, and are now hoping to do the Fort Wilderness one (it's a bit more rugged and seems more "authentic" if that makes a lick of sense).

The specialty cruise would be great. My favorite boat is the reproduction Chris Craft, but that's not for everyone true. If you really want to splash out there is the fully equipped (following me here, Mama?) yacht, The Grand... :D :D

There are other sports oriented things to do, parasailing, race car driving/riding... and the like.

What do you consider romantic? I guess that's the place to start! :D

We went for Christmas day Lunch 2002 I think, halfway through the meal I had a funny turn, felt like i was going to faint. I went to the bathroom to get some cold water to put on my forehead, back of my neck. One of the other guests got the manager and she thought we were trying to get out of paying the bill and couldn't get me out of there fast enough without helping me at all. I was worried about getting back to the Polynesian where we were staying and as she ushered me into a lift said that I would need to use the payphone downstairs to get a cab. I'll never go back, it was a horrible experience.

Segway tour at Fort Wilderness?

you know Tink I think that's why I'm struggling- Jon and I like to eat at nice restaurants but we're not really into romantic meals. I think a series of activities would be good followed by a nice meal somewhere. Also I'm thinking while DC would be my idea of a way to celebrate our anniversary I'm not sure that it would be fun for Jon. I would like to surprise him though- but with something that he will like rather than just me iyswim!

I was thinking of getting a buoy with would you marry me again for DC as we will be renewing our vows in Thailand in a few years time.

I just looked up the Grand Tink $500 an hour  lovely but.....

Oh geez. The price went up!

OK, so look into some of the sportier things. The segway tours really are great fun.

You know I'm a huge fan of the Bistro and the degustation menu. Great food, good service, and yep, romantic. You could try for a window table and catch Illuminations if the timing were right, eh?

Play Disney I believe. That's where I booked the Segway tour. The EPCOT one.

There are two. EPCOT (before the Worldshowcase Opens) and Fort Wilderness for the more rugged segway... (bigger tires, etc.).

Tink

407 WDW TOUR is the number... Play Disney is for the specialty cruises. Sorry for the confusion!

I don't remember how early they start, but I think our tour was about 9:00 am or so?

It's nice. You have a long bout of training indoors, and then off you go like a bunch of baby ducks after their Mama. We were given an exclusive segway pin after the tour. OOOOH. LOL. Not sure what we did with ours.
