Happy St Patrick's Day!

I will be resting today, hopefully venturing out for a nice walk in the wonderful spring weather (am I pushing the season?).

I'm sure I read somewhere the other day that St Patrick's Day bearly gets a nod in Ireland. Whether that is true or not I have no idea!

Corned Beef and Cabbage with carrots, potatoes and onions in the crockpot. Will smell great when I get home. Also added a bottle of Guinness to the liquid. Have Harp to drink.

Really?!?! I would love to know if this is true

An Irish Prayer
May God give you...
For every storm, a rainbow,
For every tear, a smile,
For every care, a promise,
And a blessing in each trial.
For every problem life sends,
A faithful friend to share,
For every sigh, a sweet song,
And an answer for each prayer.

Well according to good old Wikipedia it is a feasting day in Ireland, a break during Lent where alcohol could be consumed!

Dublin has quite a party, with a parade, etc.

Ireland is more religious, or was more religious and although it was allowed to feast (meaning eat meat) on St. Patrick's day during lent, it was still a more religion based holiday, whereas in the good old USA it's another reason for a party, eh? Like we need a reason!
