in the same way I can back up on the ipad?

uploading some stuff to my ipod tonight and realise - embarrassingly that I have 56 gb free - I overestimated my record collection somewhat

was wondering if I could use the ipod as a backup and get a smaller ipad?

With an appropriate gadget, yes!

Here's one by Belkin. From Amazon:

Belkin SD card adapter for iPod (http://www.amazon.com/Belkin-Media-Reader-Connector-White/dp/B0000TNJU4)

Tom (:macwave:... gadgets galore!)

Hmm reviews are very telling on this side of the pond - very very slow takes 15 minutes to back up a 128 mb card - no use to me sadly

Yes, sadly it is slow. I have the earlier model of this thing that allows you to plug your camera directly into it and save your photos to your iPod. It works. But it's painfully slow. It's also a battery hog and will drain the iPod's battery quite quickly.

I'll probably just end up getting the camera connection kit for my iPad when it's available later this month.

Sorry it won't work out for you. :crywave:

Tom (:macwave:... there's got to be a way!)
