ok, what do you collect? what must you buy whenever you see no matter how many you already have :)

I think people who know me would guess gadgets like cell phones, computers, cameras and lenses which is all true, but my guilty secret is...

 If given the chance, I'd be one of those people on the news who had a whole mini town complete with trains and things

Oh! I love trains and the villages....thankfully I have not gotten into that hobby.

I have a thing for snowglobes. I have quite a collection. I haven't bought any recently though since you can't carry them on the plane and I just don't trust the TSA people not to break them.

I also collect Walt things.

Lucy as in Lucille Ball or Lucy from Peanuts? I collect Lucy as the psychiatrist stuff. She reminds me of myself

Some of the halloween ones are just amazing! Sadly in the UK, I havent really found anywhere that does the proper stuff :( lots of garden centres do fake ones but they're not the same

You should come to Williamsburg Keith! There is a ginormous Yankee Candle store that has a whole Christmas room complete with snow. They also have lots of Christmas village stuff along with a whole room of Halloween stuff too. It's awesome in there.

Lucille Ball. :D I've seen all the shows and have 2 seasons on DVD and loads of odds and ends with Lucy and Desi of course.

I should go shopping for you at my craft shop (with your money of course ). This was a really nice set with lights and sounds. Very cool.

Jordan really loves Lucy as well. Universal has a tribute exhibition to her. It's really cool.

Keith, I'm sure you've been to All That Hoopla (might have the name a bit wrong) at Florida Mall? That's where my better half collects the Dickens Village pieces.

Lennox Snow White series is another collection, too.

For a second there I thought you were answering for Bob. He would love to do the same thing, but we just don't have any place to set something like that up.

Tink I have some of the Dickens Village pieces too. Not many though, since again we just don't have the room.

As for what I collect, well I collect china tea cups of all sizes and I especially love the minature ones that I have. I also have 2 doll sized tea cups that are all that's left of my great grandmothers tea set that she played with when she was a little girl.

Dh and I collect many many things. We realized when we started packing that we really need to cut back on the amount of nick nack type stuff we having laying around. There are a few collections we might keep, but some stuff has to go! I like the mini Disney snowglobes. It started with just Tigger and now I have quite a collection of all different ones. Dh and I have a collection of these dragon-ish pieces. We have dragons/gryphons and things like that. Dh collects fantasy knives/swords. Oh and that doesn't count the charming tails (little mice etc.), the hundreds of cds we have, precious moments pieces, etc etc etc. Yea, some stuff is off to ebay. :rolleyes008:

We have a Christmas store near us that we go to all the time that carries more of Department 56 then I have ever seen! They always have an entire Christmas set up, A total Halloween village, and new this year they have an amusement park set up which is really nice. They have a ski center and my Dad has been droooooling over the ski lift they have. If you are ever interested I can let you know what they have.

Where is that store Shellyamc? It's not the one up on Warren Road is it? (Or is that Ward)?

No, it isn't. The store up on Warren Road is call Bull Creek (or something like that, I think they just changed their name) and they have gift type stuff, but no Dept. 56. They do carry Yankee Candles though. The store I am thinking of is in Lake George

I guess the closest thing I come to "collecting" is pajamas. I love to buy them. Almost obsessively.

I tend to be one of those people who start feeling a bit flustered when there's lots of things in my house (not other people's though, I love to wander through other folks homes); I'd rather have things simple, sometimes sparse. Anyway, because of this, I don't "collect" much of anything. When Baleigh was born I started collecting Boyd's Bears for her, as one of the bears was named Bailey, and since her birth she has been called 'Baleigh Bear".

As I get older, I sometimes wish I *did* collect something....

Yes!! Moose Creek! That is a bit scary that I live 5 minutes from it and you know the name and I don't

Lake George is about an hour and 20 minutes from us. In the summer and fall we are up there allll the time though, so we don't much think about it. We were just up in Old Forge on Wednesday and that is an hour in the other direction, so I guess we are used to it :p015:

That close? Wow. I remembered driving forever to get to Lake George! Old Forge though, that seemed like a quick run up route 12.

I was by there the last time I was in NY, that's why I remember the name. I asked about the shop when I saw it.

Small world, huh? :D :D

Yes very very small! You were all of 5 minutes from my house :p015:

Lake George did seem to take a lot longer when I was little, but it really isn't bad.

I don't collect anything... well except Disney postcards and magnets from where we've visited... oh and keyrings, and pens and menu's and Disney pins. Hmn... I didn't think I collected anything..... seems I do.... I hate ornaments though. I have a very few select ones and when they get on my nerves they get binned.
