Ive no idea if this is a stupid question but I've wanted to try it and read another trippie that says its fine for families. Anyone know for sure? whats the closest one to disney?

I guess it depends on how your family feels about the way the women are dressed. Lots of people consider it immodest. The ladies all wear short shorts and t-shirts. I don't consider any of it to be too revealing but some folks do. The menu is extremely family friendly.

There are a couple in Orlando and I'm thinking that the one on Kirkman Road may be closest to Disney.

yep what John said

I think anyone going to a Disney park would see clothes at least as revealing as the hooters ladies wear

Well here comes ol' Tink to argue that point flat out. :D :D (But you KNEW I'd show up)! :D

I will not support Hooters and not just for the clothing, rather for the overt hypersexuality of the whole place. Hooter is a street term for breast (regardless of their cutesy use of the owl...) and the skin tight tied shirts and short shorts are not something I want in my face when I'm trying to eat. Plus, I don't find that sort of clothing appropriate for women anywhere, let alone a workplace.

The Hooter's near DTD used to advertize that they had a "family friendly" dining area where the women wore "normal work clothes, meaning shirts and trousers) but I don't know if it's still there.

For my money and my conscience I'll dine elsewhere thanks. :D

They are actually facing an interesting legal challenge at the moment from a lady who was told to lose weight or else. Of course she was only 5'8" and 132 pounds and even so do they have the right? but they argue that she knew she had applied and been given the job based on looks and so on.

It's going to be an interesting case for sure

Tink

132 pounds at 5'8" is NOT heavy by any means. Ugh.

Are you TRYING to get me started? :hug2:

Catharsis, and projection and all that jazz, eh? ;) Just might work!

Seriously, I find "the Hooters look" as offensive and oppressive as a woman in full burka. Both serve to debase women in general and reduce the individual to nothing more than a sum of body parts.

There. Now ya' happy, dude? Look what you've done... feminist theory and on a Disney board at THAT!!!! (Wanna' talk about Minnie)? ;)

To each their own.

Here's what I wonder.....where is the equivalent? I would like to see the men dressed the same. Tight shirts and of course, they must all be ripped with muscles....:D

If you are looking for opinions, then mine is no, I would not take my family there

I have heard that the food is good, but I'm sure the 'view' would kill it for us. I don't need my little girl looking at half naked women shaking it for a buck. I honestly can't believe they sell it as a family place??

Lol Josh! I don't chose to eat there because I think it's a bad example to set the kids.do buy their wing sauce though. I have thought long and hard and I think if you as a woman decide you want to use your assets to make your living then why not, if someone is willing to give you a big tip because of your looks then take advantage of it. As long as the choice is there for the woman to make. It's when people are forced into something to pay for drugs etc that I have a problem. I don't think under 18s should be let in though.

I take my 14 year old son to Hooters every once in a while. I happen to like the wings and couldnt care less who takes my order or what they are wearing.

It's such a subjective matter that most people's opinions will be slightly different.

The other day in Asda there was a lady walking around with a bikini on. I won't go into details but 'they' looked like teabags. She was no oil painting and it was just vile. On the *same* day at the same asda, someone had a pee in the carpark!

The man was fairly drunk. He did warn everyone by shouting "UH OH" but didn't make any effort to conceal anything!!! It's a good job Niamh was too young to understand what was going on. If she'd have seen anything I'd have decked him!
