My fave two are www.zen.co.uk and www.plus.net

plus.net is a good mix of cheap, but not free, and good quality

zen is one level up in terms of speed and reliability, although dont take that as meaning plus.net is bad

Out of the freebies, Im not a fan of sky :( other than getting more value out of the horrendous subscription! orange has been ok.

Basically broadband is so important for me, I'd rather pay a bit more to make sure it's as good as I can get so its plus or zen for me

your welcome

oh i forgot

the speed you get depends on the distance from the exchange and how noisy your line is, mine is quite noisy and i can only get a 3.5mb connection but it was too un stable so downgraded to 2mb

We're with Zen after Keith's recommendation, we've been with them for ages now. They are brilliant, expensive but the customer service, tech support and speed I really can't find anything to complain about.

We have been thinking about Sky :sigh; basically because of the price. We will be 25 a month better off if we switch our telephone and Broadband to them and that's paying Sky for their Mid service and unlimited anytime calls. I'm just worried they will be slow and I won't be happy then :rolleyes008: I've been putting it off for about 6 months

What Chris doesn't like is that you have to have their router, they won't give you the login/password settings to use your own :(

I'll still be trying to make a decision in another 12 months at this rate

yep well I must admit, if I didn't absolutely HAVE to have the Internet for my work as well as play, I'd be looking to save some money by moving to one of the freebies as well.

We are with BT but the lure of free broadband to save a buck or two, although i don't want a crap service.
Tiscali sounds good but we had them in the past and they were really poor and dh says he would not touch them with a barge poll now.
