That is the thing about apple - they are the first gadgets I have had where not only have I been blown away by the important things like the power of the computers and the stunning effectiveness and simplicity of the software but also by the ergonomics and sheer beauty of the design right down to the packaging - makes you feel special

I imagine that the version you've got is iMovie 09. Some folks like the previous version better. Fortunately, Apple recognized that and still have the iMovie HD version available for download from here if you want it:
iMovie HD (http://support.apple.com/kb/DL319)
Beyond that, if you need an intro to using iMovie 09, here's a guided tour of what it can do!

do i regret spending alot of money on a mac ...... do i heck it is worth every single penny

infact my workmates hubby wants me to take it round so he can admire it before he gets one himself
he has wasted so much money on windows and window upgrades that he knows the mac is the way to go

the one i use is sooooooo easy its unbelievable, once you have the footage, editing doesnt take long, depends what you want to do to it, its just the rendering that takes the time...but never hassle to use...never used the windows built in movie maker. i know how fussy you are so it must be pretty awesome if your happy with it :)
remember the 7hrs video we watched down at teresa's a few years back and the couple of 1000 photos

I've used quite a few windows ones but nothing has come close to iMovie, Mick. It's the simplicity that the other programs lack. They are all constantly looking forward and I think Apple looks 'backwards' in a way to make things more simple. Don't know if that sounds daft but I know what I mean!

Mick,
Here's one I did with iMovie and iDVD. I posted it on Vimeo since Youtube couldn't handle the length. It's actually got chapters at all the major sections that you can navigate to off the DVD. Of course, the Vimeo version is straight through since I can't do random access online!
This is the one I did for Slowhand and sent to him on DVD.
<object width="504" height="378"><param name="allowfullscreen" value="true" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><param name="movie" value="http://vimeo.com/moogaloop.swf?clip_id=5860522&server=vimeo.com&sho w_title=1&show_byline=1&show_portrait=0&color=00AD EF&fullscreen=1" /><embed src="http://vimeo.com/moogaloop.swf?clip_id=5860522&server=vimeo.com&sho w_title=1&show_byline=1&show_portrait=0&color=00AD EF&fullscreen=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always" width="504" height="378"></embed></object>

The ken burn effects can be slightly bad haha, I did a video of all my prom photos and on one of them the ken burn pans from the top right in on my friend's (who is a girl) chest!!! :rotfl:
Your video was excellent, I'd love to go on a cruise Tom! Mum and Dad are going on one next year for their anniversary but not a Disney cruise.
