Tracy,

I can't help because I don't know anything about the tariffs and rate plans in the UK. Sorry! :lipwobble:

Tom (:macwave:... who can't even figure out his own AT&T plan!)

I think with most packages you get a certain amount of 'free' texts. I'm not sure if they are all 'unlimited' texts now, but I know that if you have a certain amount of free texts them multimedia/picture messages account for 3/4 of your free texts

To e-mail us a pic at our live e-mail address would be free, provided that you had free internet (which all iPhone contracts have!)

If you are abroad, however, the 'free' internet becomes VERY expensive

I recommend o2 there packages come with unlimited Internet so won't pay extra to download iTunes. There is a lower priced contract with unlimited texts have a look at their rates

Actually o2 is changing from 24 th June data will be limited to 500mb or 1gb

Claire

I have free email and internet included in my monthly price plan with O2. The only costs incurred with iTunes is the cost of the single, album etc that you are buying.

With 99% of the contract it's going to be 'unlimited' internet but from what people have said, 02 is changing their contracts  The only cost for iTunes is the actual price that you are downloading from iTunes. The actual browsing of the internet is free.

well the contract i was looking at is the 45 a month on orange

should i just go for it

or would i be better on a pay as you go iphone

Claire

Well I'm miffed now! The contract I took out (24 month) now offers unlimited texts. I routinely go over my 500 allowance.

josh.p.
10-06-2010, 08:30 PM
Trace, I am on Pay & Go, I get unlimited texts and internet for 10 a month. I top up 10 and it takes 5 from my balance for the texts and nothing extra for the internet.

If you add that and the price of the phone, I reckon you'd still be better off with it on pay as you go. However, many people prefer Contract phones

Jeez! That's a lot of texts! I have to laugh, Caitlin didn't realise what she was using and ended up with a 22 bill for texts over and above her allowance. I did make her pay it back in labour and now she's on unlimited

If you get a Pay & Go do it now and then buy the iPhone later on. That way you can put the sim in your new iPhone but you'll have the current unlimited contract.

only buying the iphone 3gs julie

will mine fit in that

josh.p.
11-06-2010, 03:05 PM
Hold out for the 4g anyway as the 3gs will probably get a good price reduction

The microsim is really easy to make though, you can just cut your current sim card up a bit so that it fits

Hi,

Went to 02 this morning and asked re new iPhone.

Was told that most of the stores opens at 7 on the launch day also the priority goes to the store on the day not home deliveries so there MAY be few days delays with the home delivery.

The new sim cards have an extra bit in them to enable the video calls, so you'll need to ask o2 etc for a new sim. They'll post it to you straight away.

Also, no reductions for the 3GS, at least not on the o2 website....

josh.p.
16-06-2010, 09:59 AM
I'm annoyed about the lack of price reduction on the 3gs! I'm pretty sure when the 3gs came out, it was the same price as the 3g was originally but they reduced the 3g one.

That might have been a few months down the line though

Try telling my parents that :rotfl:

I'm staying at home as well (Maintenance loan won't even cover my rent because it's based on my parent's income) so I get around 2,700.

If they think I'm spending all that on books then they've got another thing coming :rotfl:

Skywatcher
16-06-2010, 12:55 PM
Ah I remember when that could have bought you 2,700 pints at the uni bar

happy days ( from what I remember)

I will be having this argument in 2 years time except we'll get nowt and it will probably cost a fortune in fees by then!

Everyone is guaranteed the 2,700 maintenance loan  The rest is all based upon your household income.

Sorry for my ignorance Josh, but did you get the job mentioned a while ago (at M&S).

If you have a job etc, live off that - I used to work at Morrissons, and lived at home. My student loans etc paid for my laptop, and contributed heavily towards a trip to florida!!

It was seasonal work and they did offer me permanent hours but they didn't fit in with college :sigh:
