I got my leave approved!!!

Great news - we are going to go back to Japan and then continue on to Europe and the UK! We are going to do about a week in Japan, and 3 weeks UK/Europe. We are doing a coach tour of "Christmas in Berlin and Eastern Europe" and the rest I haven't decided yet. I have been to Berlin before but it was years before the wall came down so I am really intrigued to see the changes. The other places on the tour I've never been to before so it will be new for me too. Looks like Christmas Day will be in Vienna.

Hoping to get up to see relatives in Yorkshire, and we want to see some of London and Paris.

And then we will need a holiday to recover!

Not so good - I just can't squeeze a trip to WDW in as well - gave Gareth the choice of Japan or US and Japan won this time. But we will be back never fear, there's always next year....

So excited - and now in full-on planning mode!

I will do my best - but if it's October Gareth won't be able to come, and he may hate me for going without him!

It's his 2nd last year of high school and he really can't afford to miss too much at that stage of his school career.

Can you arrange for the end of Nov? ;)

My Great-Aunt lives in a little town outside Harrogate - her son and my other Great-Aunt are in Leeds.

I am hoping to visit the church my grandparents were married in, in Calverley. I have been before - but I wasn't as interested in family history then as I am now!

Would love to meet up if we could manage it!

An afternoon tea anywhere in London is one thing we never got to do while we were there.

Kazza it sounds like you have a fabulous trip planned. I would love to do a trip like that. I too haven't been in Berlin since the wall came down and would love to get back there. There is so much I would love to do in Europe that I couldn't do when I was living there because of my clearances.

Sounds like a fabulous trip Karen . And I'd love to meet you next October as I'm going to try and plan to be there .
My girfriend Diana is moving to Delaware and I will go there and we will fly out of Maryland . I want to introduce her to Krista and thrilled that I will see Krista a bit more when visiting Diana .

Sounds brilliant! I'm less than an hour north of Harrogate so it would be lovely to meet up if it's possible! :D

As for afternon tea, you will most certainly have to go to Betty's Tearooms at Harrogate....the absolute best!

Are you looking at the centre or the outskirts? Cheap and cheerful or doesn't it matter? Off the top of my head I know that 42 The Calls is good. I'll have a think.

Centre is probably best as I don't drive!

Cheap and cheerful might be the go - I have already spent a fortune and we haven't even taken off yet! :D
