Just to paint a bit of a picture about our family. Theres me obviously, my good lady wife Elaine and I have three girls
Marisa who is 19, Jessica 15 and young Alicia who is 8. Marisa and Alicia suffer with the life limiting disease Cystic Fibrosis which to those that don't know is a pretty serious lung disease.
Last summer we decided to book our up and coming trip to Florida as it will be the last possibly that we share with my eldest, not because she is really ill but she is moving on and doing her own thing. And again to set the record straight my girls are really pretty well and cope with thier condition very very well.
So back to the story. We booked our holiday and as you are all aware its not at all cheap. Then come Christmas my work drops off. Not too much of a problem we can afford to live on odds and ends that come in but I conact people about travel insuance with an underlying health problem. WOW.. We where unable to get quotes from loads and those that did quaote gave prices from 1,000 +. Now suddenly lack of work and silly quotes started making an ensive holiday unafordable.
In comes one of my daughters nurses who gets a fundraising charitee ( CF Dream Holidays) Now these fantastic people have found a cheaper insurance and paid for our insurance. Thanks big time what nice peolple

What Fabulous People and aesome news for your dear family . Last year at the pin event, a young lady( maybe 17) wore a surgical mask over her mouth and nose . She told us she had had a lung transplant due to CF . She had to be very careful not tro come in contact with germs , pollen or smoke .

What a lovely thing to do for your family.

We hear so many bad stories so it's really great to hear a good one.

I'm sure you will have an absolutely wonderful holiday

Cheers guys as Sandra says and others have gone through life can be pretty tough but there are good things going on. We are lucky that our kids are well and when we are in Hospital we see some pretty awefull things. We do have to work hard to keep our kids well and they themselves work extremely hard and a trip to Disny with help From CF Dream Holidays is just what the Dr ordered.
Work has picked up aswell which is an absolute BONUS

Cannot tell you how good it was to read this thread. :hug2: Thank you for sharing your good news with us. Yes, CF is a serious challenge, but your daughters and clearly you have not let it stop you from living each day to it's fullest potential.

It's wonderful that your family was helped out by this very generous service!

next time have a word with your CC company, i did, like your daughters i have a lung disease, which for me is life threatening. i got a quote of 250 from a specialist ins co for pre existing med condition, saw a flyer in my CC bill and contacted them and they gave me a quote of 79. bit of a difference Eh!!.....worth bearing in mind for next time

Our cheapest quote was 1,064 then we got in touch with a company called Insure With and they asked lots of RELATED medical questions rather than the robotic ones that refer to everything. We have been charged 560 for six of us 2 with pre existing medical conditions. We are well chuffed. It never really crossed our mind that it would be so expensive as we are all covered under my banking, thought I'd tell them of our issues and they just didn't want to know.

I'm sure its the same for every person on here. The moment we thought about going and then when we booked it. Wow the old head hasn't let go of the exitement. The kids are asking how many days so we're keepng tabs on the countdown. My daughter and her boyfriend got me a few dollars for my birthday just to start stuffing my wallet. This has just made my grin bigger and we've still got 15 weeks 6 days 12 hours and 14 minutes to go.
