In both cases, however, the judge said that DOMA failed to meet even the most simple judicial review, rational basis.

Could we possibly, finally be on the real road to equality in the USA?

Saw this post yesterday but didn't have time to read up on DOMA. Hope this turns out to be a step in the right direction.

It is expected that the Obama administration will appeal the decision. I've read the judge's determination and it's really to the point.

The cases were on two points. One was the state of Massachusetts suing the Federal government, and the other was GLAD suing on section 3 but a different portion.

We can only wait and see, and stay active.

Interesting that there hasn't been a huge news release. Then again, I'm not too surprised.

The disgusting survey sent out to the military on DADT is taking front line over the true victory.

One step, one inch at a time. Equality is worth fighting for.

DOMA stands for Defence of Marriage Act Nut. Section 3 amends Chapter 1 of title 1, United States Code:
In determining the meaning of any Act of Congress, or of any ruling, regulation, or interpretation of the various administrative bureaus and agencies of the United States, the word 'marriage' means only a legal union between one man and one woman as husband and wife, and the word 'spouse' refers only to a person of the opposite sex who is a husband or a wife.

I think this will be a fight that will be won.......I just hope that it will be soon. The government has no business in my reproductive rights nor whom I want to marry.
