When I was in China, we had a girl from the school we visited (I was in Hong Kong for 2weeks as part of an exchange and we visited a school in china which we donated money to) show us around her house and home town.

Her english wasnt very good, and she said she was 'taking us to the book shop, where you get your hands washed' we where a bit puzzled but followed her... It turned out we where going to her sister's hair salon to meet her and see where you get your hair washed :rotfl:

This was at Typhoon Lagoon and my DH doesn't swim . We had gone on the lazy river and I had floated on a head of him . I looked back too see his water shoes flopping about . I panicked realizing he was lying backwards with his head under water . I jumped off my tube and struggled past other tubers with my tube in hand to get too him . By the time I had , he had gotten himself off the tube and he was only in deep knee,(not even) water . The look on his face as he looked down was priceless . We both stood against the wall and laughed tears as other tubers floated by .

I will try and explain as it related to Sign Language....

We were at the Guest Service at MK to collect our MNSSP Tickets.

The cast member who is giving us ticket is Japanese and she gesture 'firework' type of sign (which start with fist then open palm upward to reveal fireworks) we both 'translated' this as firework. We worked out that she was trying to tell us the best place to view the fireworks.

We remarked how kind of her.

Judging by her facial expression, perhaps it is not what she meant but she kept repeating about three times and we were pointing the map to try and find out the best seat.

It turned out that it was Japanese sign for 'Congratulations' as we had 'just married' badge on!!!!

We felt so stupid!
