Hi suzideri a a warm :welcome: to Secrets.
There`s nothing to compare with that first trip to WDW and you will have a ball, that`s for sure.
Please remember to allocate some chill out time though or you will end up exhausted trying to see and do all that Disney has to offer.

Hi Suzi and welcome to our Disney family

Formosa Gardens is a wonderful place to stay, it's so quiet and peaceful  It is really close to the parks as well, especially if you use the Sherberth Road shortcut, I can PM you the details if you like :)

There is a a square about 5 mins drive away, with a grocery shop called the Marketplace, where you can buy just about anything. Various restaurants including an Outback Steak Restaurant, TGI Fridays and Redlobster. There is also a Subway which is very popular.

If you turn left at the traffic lights on the 192 about 3 mins up the road there is a Target on the left with an Olive Garden and a Longhorn Steakhouse - we used both last year and were very impressed with both.

You are going to have a brilliant time :D Oh and like Slowhand said, spend some time just relaxing by the pool at your villa listening to the birds and watching the hot air balloons float by - pure bliss!!

Hello and Welcome to Disney Secrets!!

A first trip to WDW, and the Orlando area is an exciting event indeed! August will be hot and very humid, and you should expect to see some very strong thunderstorms while you are here. Bring something for the rain (rain gear, poncho, ect.) and extra shoes to allow those you will end up getting wet to dry between wearings (stuffing them with newspaper helps that process).

Publix is an excellent grocery store as is Whole Foods Market. Both have a wide variety of prepared foods that are actually good.

Disney is a huge place and you'll want to at least have a feel for what is in each park, and of those attractions which ones you'd most like to see. Some will be closed for refurbishing, so you'll want to plan on that too. You will not be able to see and do everything, so this is truly a First Visit (because others will follow)! :D

If you have any specific questions feel free to post them to the forums and we'll all jump in and help answer them!

I forgot about Publix Tink, I agree they are very good and there is one a little further up the 192 on the right.
