View Full Version : Offsite hidden gems?
Have you ever discovered something away from the theme parks that has really made you happy you found it?
For me it would be the Pirate's Cove golf at the Crossroads. It was the only place open the day after Hurricane Floyd passed by. Spent a couple of hours here having great fun and of course I won. :D

Our "finds" are mainly food related.
The Hickory Steakhouse and Villa de Flores at Gaylord Palm Resort, Bern`s Steakhouse in Tampa, Charley`s etc. etc. the list is too long to mention them all and you don`t have to contend with making ADR`s or those pesky dining plans!
Also a trip to the Keys is a "must do" at least once when you go to Florida IMHO.
Definately agree with Pirates golf course! On the very last hole if you get a hole in one you get a piece of Blackbeards treasure - i did it, although not sure how i managed it cus the ball shot off the course hit some rocks and was knocked about down the border down the side, went back onto the green and went in the hole!! It was very spectacular!

Old Town Kissimmee. The Saturday night Classic Car Cruise is great and there are some good shops too. :D
