On its way sweetie :tink::pdust::pdust::pdust::pdust: and a :hug2: also . Now then , we tend to get ourselves upset really fast esp. hearing surgical . They didn't tell you or hint what it is that they are diagnosing ? What are your symptoms besides pain ? Could it be gall bladder ? Anyway, try to keep calm & think positive . We are here for you as you are for eveyone else . :hug2:

They need to remove bilateral ovarian cysts and fluid as well as an enlarged uterus. :sorry: They are thinking ovarian cancer. Oh Dear Lord , I'm So Sorry . Thik positive, easier said than done, I know . I've had two cancerous scares . One in 1984, cyst on my left ovary and fluid in my tube . Thankfully, testing was negative, but reason for only having one child . I've always been sad that I was unable to have a child for Jim . Then in 1998, I had severe pancreatitis and was hospitalized for almost a week . My white blood cells wouldn't come down . Doctors told me I could possibly have pancreas caancer . Had the endo & colon done at one time . Polyps removed and again negative . I will pray for you, Trish . They will remove the nasties and you will be fine . :hug2:

Sister Tinkfan, I cannot tell you how much I hope all of this is over for you fast, and in the best possible way. I hope the ovary issues are cysts only. I know how much pain you must be in (my sister went through much the same). :hug2:

:sorry: My life is beginning to resemble a bad soap opera or something on Oprah. We brought my brother into the ER last night. He has Charcoux Syndrome and an amputation looks more than likely. My mother has to brought in today for an infected leg and Ben goes in to the Doctors for high prostate levels this morning. No results yet for me and still have to schedule the liver scan. i'm not sure how to cope with all of this at once guys, any advise would be appreciated. I'm truly overwhelmed. And my poor son is really scared. I'm so glad we got kevin to Disney in April. :sorry:

Oh dear... :comfort:
There's an expression in my family, "It never rains but pours". You're definitely in it right now. :comfort:
My only advice is try to deal with immediate problems as they occur and don't overstretch yourself with thinking too far ahead.
I've been in a situation like that and it does seem overwhelming so you have my deepest sympathy. :hug2:

arkvilla
19-07-2010, 12:54 PM
Oh Trish,

How awful for you :hug2:

Is there anyway you could physically 'switch off' your brain when you start to feel overwhelmed - this is sometimes the only way to cope.

Try what I do and that is, if you cannot do anything to solve the situation then you cannot worry about it as it is out of your control - just accept you can't worry about everyone and everything - it's too much for you.

There's nothing you can do now but ride through this horrible period. I'll continue to pray for you and your family and we're all here to listen when you need to vent your frustrations, worry, etc xx

They accepted our bid, I think I'm still in shock. This place is half the size of our house. 2 bedrooms, a loft, living room and a large kitchen and dining area . The basement is finished for Tyler to put all his sports junk and foose ball, pool table ect. The back yard has a beautiful deck and a pool. It's nicely landscaped and backs to the woods. I don't know how I will be able to pack in the shape that I am right now though. Mom and Kevin will live on the other side. Their side is move in ready, fresh paint and new carpet! We'll carpet ours in a neutral color!!

It's the not knowing which is worse as you just don't know what you are dealing with so your thoughts just go mad .

Will be thinking of you Trish and your family who are all going through this together, you're probably trying to be strong for them and they're trying to be strong for you.

Keep us posted on how you are doing and we'll all keep up the prayers and positive thoughts for you and yours xx

Hopefully he can pop on to update us but if not then maybe once you are at the hotel you might have wifi or some sort of internet access. I think you may need athe distraction as hotels can be boring on your own.

Welove New York Trish, saw so many sites. I will put some photo's on a do a little trip report once we've done our jobs here at the villa. Jai spend most of yesterday painting various rooms and I went to Lowes on 3 seperate occasions... busy, busy.

This morning we're off to Winter Park Farmers Market and then the Tiffany Museum.

Painting again when we get back. Will add some photo's of the finished rooms to the villa advert, then if anyone wants to have a look they can :-)

Yes. Don't cancel the trip unless you are concerned about exposure to public germs. You'll need an escape. :hug2:

Suggestions for putting on weight? With Type 1? Try adding olive oil and other "good fats" to your diet. Also, add some complex carbs... can you tolerate milk products? Milk shakes to sip on are sometimes pretty helpful.

Put on weight with "good stuff" but you know that already.

So good to see you here. I wish I could better express HOW good! :hug2:

oh G-d, every time i see someone who has obviously had chemo i am filled with complete admiration for them.....i don't mean that to sound patronisng, i sincerely mean it :hug2:

when my friend had chemo last year she had her long hair cut into a very trendy and lovely short style, wore a 'cold cap' (i can't remember the correct name for it right now) and she was incredibly lucky to not lose her hair. Will wearing that type of cap be an option for you Trish?

Cancel your trip :nono: no no no! Unless your doctor says you have to!

You get yourself to Disney and make those men in your life push you around like a queen :D

I think Tink has the best advice for putting on weight. I've never had any trouble putting it on, but healthy food really wasn't part of the picture

Take care of yourself!! But sneak away and come see us when you can :hug2:

The trip will do wonders for you  All that gorgeous food in WDW will definitely help with the weight gain, too  A great snack would be some baguette with olive oil drizzled on the top  It's a healthy fat and tastes great on bread  If you put some olive oil and a little tiny bit of coriander, mix together and use as salad dressing, that is also a healthy way of adding fat to something without making you feel too bloated  :hug2:

The doctors want me to put some weight on, I'mm right at 100 pounds, but withe the diabetes it's hard. Any suggestions?

There's an excellent product called Complan that's probably just what you need. I don't know if you can get it there, but you could email the company and see.

Complan offers nutritional food supplements (http://www.complanfoods.com/complan.php)

just great big hugs:hug2:

:embarassed: Hugs always gratefully accepted.

Trish, I am so sorry that I have not been online to read what you have gone through . My prayers & thoughts have been with you in spirit as I knew you were having surgery soon . So sad to hear of the results .
I agree with everyone else go see Mickey, if your doctors say your up for it . In the meantime lots of soft :hug2::hug2::hug2: for you and lots of :pdust::pdust::pdust: for what you still need to deal with . Lots of love, sweetie .

Trish I`m sorry that I haven`t posted on this thread so far...my vacation got in the way and I`m only just getting back up to speed.
Keep up the good work.
You know that we are all here for you...oh and yes, make sure to go to WDW if you can make it, if only to get some real pixiedust. :hug2:

I 'll tell you I would love some pixiedust right about now but i don't have the energy yet to do it. I'll have to make do reading about your fabulous trips. When I see the Doc on Friday, will ask if taking the trip is possible in the middle of chemo. Somewhere in my demented mind I thought that I would feel better at the 2 week mark than I do. ( I think I was thinking of my last c-section to be honest ) Everyday I try to pack 1 box for the house but yesterday I was running a low grade fever and just didn't do it. It's sooo frustrating.

Just wanted to pop in and give a hug or ten :hug2:

Please relax and take it easy....only do enough to make you feel good in yourself, and leave the rest, or delegate it. Nothing is more important than you right now :hug2: Conserve that energy as much as you can so your body has all those reserves to draw on.

And if it feels right to postpone your trip you can do so knowing that when you are well again it is the very first thing you can do!!!!
