Yeah. You can't.

The best you can do is monitor the Keynote from sites like MacWorld (http://www.macworld.com/article/151730/2010/06/liveupdate.html). Apple never broadcasts the keynote live. You have to rely on the media to provide real time coverage.

Later, Apple will post the keynote on their developer web site but only after it's long over.

Tom (:macwave:... and now, live from the Presidio! Oh wait. Not yet!)

Reading the mans medical history is seriously Whoa!, and I mean whoa - I have never ever ever seen anyone live after one of the original ops he had for more than 5 weeks, I kid you not, then we have the liver transplant.

Perhaps at one of these things we will anounce he is the iJobs android of the future and then shoot laser beams out of his eyes whilst playing an mp3

seriously though, you can't help but want to wrap the man in cotton wool when you see him :sigh:

..and yet when they used to, we all crowded round monitors, people stayed late at work, ordered pizzas, had a great apple chat etc.

I guess it ended up requiring too much bandwidth! but it's terrible that they don't broadcast it any more :(

and it use 'retina display', and it quadruples, as reported, the pixel density of the last iPhone. You now get an industry leading 326 pixels per inch in the iPhone 4

Skywatcher
07-06-2010, 06:47 PM
How can it be thinner? If it gets any thinner it will start falling into the gaps between the atoms of my pockets and slip into another dimension

Seriously there must be a limit

OOOPS!

While trying to show off the iPhone 4’s new retina display by comparing web pages, Steve Jobs encountered an unfortunate problem with the Moscone center’s WiFi.

Making a hat tip to Google’s problems at their IOKeynote, Jobs joked: “You could help me out by getting off of WiFi.” Unfortunately, his problems didn’t end there, as when he switched to a backup iPhone 4, he got the dreaded “Could not activate cellular network.”

Giving up on web pages, Jobs apologized: “I’m sorry guys, I just don’t know what’s going on. Scott, you got any suggestions?”

A perfect audience response: someone shouted out “Verizon!”

Deafjeff
07-06-2010, 06:56 PM
Confirming that Apple’s not just dabbling in the chip game, Steve Jobs has just confirmed that the iPhone 4 uses the Intrinsity-designed A4 CPU, just like in the iPad.

But that’s not where the hardware changes stop. Revealing the back of the device, Jobs shows that it is backed to the gills, and just like in the Gizmodo prototype, most of the iPhone 4’s internals are made up of battery.

The iPhone 4 will come with up to 32GB of storage, quadband HSDP / HSUPA with 7.2 MBps down and 5.8 Mbps up, dual mic noise suppression, 802.11n WiFi and GPS.

What kind of battery life are we talking? Seven hours on 3G, six on browsing through 3G, 10 on WiFi, 10 on Video, 40 on music and 300 hours standby.

The iPhone’s also about to get a lot more interactive with the addition of a three-axis gyroscope, which in combination with the accelerometer provides 6-axis motion sensing.

Was talking to an apple uk guy and ok they always boast about how much they know and cant say but I got the feeling they were 150% excited about iphone/ipad and the iOS. It's where they see everything going. It's completely under their control, they can make sure any app released is apple-friendly etc. They love it.

I asked about macosx (as you know, a hobby horse of mine) and face dropped and it was like "oh THAT"

I'm sure updates will come but right now I get the feeling that the they're all out for the trendy new iOS
