despite previous misgivings TNT were better than this - as I know from the 27inch iMac thing the tracking is bizzare as there is a lot of paperwork between china and germany and then the actual item ships from ireland

Thats where it gets awkward. Chris's contract is with apple not TNT. Chris would have to claim a refund from Apple who'd claim from TNT but to do that Chris would have to prove Apple failed in a sufficiently significant part of the contract he had with them.

This is why, unfortunately, the courier companies get away with being rubbish ;(

I had similar with the mac pro some years ago :( it was compounded because at that time, the last stage of the journey was untrackable! It literally said "IN UK - delivery within 2-5 days" but no notion of exactly when :/

Well I think we just hit very lucky yesterday as I did a check and there are now none in the Leeds area Currys/PC world stores. I think you just have to keep phoning the stores that actually sell them, or keep popping in. On the Curry's website it tells you which stores do sell them, it isn't all of them.

I don't know Apple's stock situation. It does say 7 - 10 days delivery on the website though.

See how differently different stores react :/ The local one here had an unofficial under the counter reservation list, felt he'd easily get enough handsets in since O2 have now said they wont be selling online *OR* to new customers until July. Only existing customers upgrading via the store.

Took it home at lunchtime and reveled in Lisas first ever apple unboxing

plugged into itunes on the imac and synced all the apps she wanted - so yep if you share an itunes acoiunt you only have to buy them once :yes:

left her working out how 'things' works after showing her how app store etc works and syncing the e-mail

can't believe its all up and running in 5 minutes

she is totally besotted already - tonight we'll get her an account here and she can come and say hi to you all :D

of course the best bt is that I get to have mine backnow and we can play scrabble over bluetooth :lol:
