Brilliant.

Absolutely brilliant.

I took the boy. We had a date. It's "our" movie.

You see, my boy is also an "Andy" and over the years, each Toy Story release has coincided with nearly the same exact moment in my Andrew's life. This particular installment is bittersweet for me as Andy is preparing to leave for college...and very soon my sweet Andrew will be doing the same.

So we went together and I cried my way through it...over and over again. It was a beautiful movie...full of all the best things that Pixar does so well. I don't want to give away too much, but it is well worth seeing.

One final note. The short film before the movie? BEST. EVER. Truly and utterly beautiful and sweet. Seriously? Go see the movie JUST so you can see the short. It has an incredible message.

I'm hoping Alysia and I get to see it tomorrow after dinner with dad. The first one came out when she was 5. We went the night it opened, which was the Wed before Thanksgiving. She's in college now.....

We went to see it on Sunday, and I have to agree that this movie was absolutely brilliant. A must-watch for anyone who's seen the other Toy Stories. Though you may want to bring tissue for the ending; it's very touching, though I won't go into any more detail.

Agreed.

Can't wait. Not good with weepies though, I was a wreck in UP

Will it be 3D? It is easier to hide the tears behind those big dark specs:yes:

OMG. I was a HOT MESS during Up!!! Such a beautiful movie though...truly, truly beautiful.

It *is* in 3D, however the boy and I saw it in the regular theater because he was going to see it with his GIRLFRIEND later that evening (SEE WHY I CRIED?!?!)

I asked him how it was in 3D and he said it was good, but he didn't think it really added much to the movie.

Think I'll not bother with 3d, it annoys me to have the glasses on.

Oh and Lisa I cry every time I see it LOL, don't whatever you do watch remember me!

Well I had the day off yesterday and I went to see it.

O.M.G. I don't think I have ever cried so much!! Seriously, the crying where you start to get loud? That was totally me. I was emotionally drained.

What a fantastic film  I think it beats Toy Story 2 but nothing can ever top the original toy story!

I loved Ken & Barbie, and I think Buzz had some hilarious moments in this film, it was great to see a humorous side to him. Ken & Barbie really stole the show

My fave was "There IS no way out!...... Just kidding.... Doors over there."

Beccaberry

LOL! My favorite was when Mr. Potato Head said, "Tell him to get a haircut" (a long time running joke in my house w/ Andrew...)

Excellent, excellent movie.

I played with the Spanish Buzz in Target the other day...Jon had to literally DRAG me away!

We saw it tuesday - absolutely loved it! Isabelle (who's 3) got a bit upset and started crying at one point, the woman in the seat next to me was sobbing at the end!
We saw it in 2d, to be honest i see no extra benefits to seeing it in 3d, i dont think it would make it any better at all!

We saw it today. A lovely way to tie up the story but 3D really didn't add anything to it.

Now, where can I get me a Mr Tortilla Head?

... and I agree, of all the 3D films I've seen this was probably the one I was least aware of the effects of 3D in

Beccaberry
05-08-2010, 01:43 PM
We saw it both ways (3D and Non) and I concur...it didn't really add much to the film.

I've now seen it six times.

Johnie

What's going on with Target?

Tink
05-08-2010, 02:57 PM
It is one of (if not the) first corporations to take advantage of providing massive contributions to a political candidate. They chose to back an extreme right winger who is opposed to Civil Liberties for the Gay community among other intolerant positions.

Sooooo, no Target for us until they acknowledge that they chose an irresponsible candidate (and hopefully that they'll not contribute to campaigns from here on out).

I didn't think the 3D added anything other than the picture looking a bit 'deeper' Not sure it was worth the extra few quid.

Dawn
05-08-2010, 04:07 PM
Ummmm, shouldn't the Target debate be in another thread? Or am I missing something?

Tink

It's not a debate, rather a comment related to Target mentioned in this thread. A segue rather than a full derailment.

I was commenting on the Spanish Buzz being on display at Target :)

Segue's are fun.

And I'd not heard. Pity that.

And this,
It provided a way of hiding the tears behind big dark glasses is utterly and COMPLETELY true!
