Hello
What do we need to take for a summer trip? Has anyone any ideas on how we keep cool :/ last time we used those water sprays but they didnt work that well. Does it get so cool at night that we need to take coats?
Sunscreen - lots of it at high factor
Hats for everyone
Drink lots of water
Hmmm, night time doesn't get so cool but you might want a sweater for that seriously air conditioned restaurant.

No coats, sweaters or long pants for summer nights in Florida. A light jacket might be ok if your going to the movies or restaurants and are very cold natured.
I carry a Ziploc bag around and a wet wash cloth. That is my summer heat buster. It works pretty well too.

marmite - to feed the boy and to make sure we don't get bitten by mozzies - it works
Rain gear, and at least two pair of shoes/footwear. Mosquito repellent! Light cotton or other natural fiber clothing that will move in the (once in awhile) breeze. Tight polyester is going to torment you.

We always do the washcloth thing and it does really work :p015:
They now make these bands that you soak overnight in water and they have some gel in them that keeps them cool. They are thin and you just tie them around your neck and taa-daa you stay cool for a long time
The small battery-operated fans without the mister are much more useful in the Orlando heat & humidity, IMHO. The mister just adds more humidity to your personal space--don't really need that! But having the fans--particularly in some of the queues--is nice when there is no breeze or A/C.

If you have the ability to freeze bottles of water, do it! That way you have cold water all, or most of the day, and the cold bottle feels really good on your neck..

I had an awesome little blue fan that I bought at WDW. It did such a GREAT job and then it broke into a million pieces (I dropped it). The other ones they sell don't give off any air at all. I need to find a fan!!

Packets of Wetwipes, usually the ones suitable for children. Good for soothing hot faces.
Essentials: Comfortable shoes!
And a cooling foot spray is useful too.
