:taunt: just got my first macbook and it's a thing of extreme beauty :wiggle:
what applications and things do you have for these which are must haves? unlike my pc this has come with photo, video software so I'm not sure what else I need but there must be some killer applications out there?

If you're new to the Mac, I'd suggest having a peek here: Mac 101 (http://www.apple.com/support/mac101/).
If you're coming from a pc background, you might want to take a look here; Switch 101 (http://www.apple.com/support/switch101/).
While they're not application related per se, they should help get you started right!
Application wise, I'd have to agree with DeafJeff, iWork is brilliant. Especially if you're going to be doing word processing, spreadsheets, or presentations.

Our Mick is a PC fan. We haven't been able to convert him yet.
Doesn't stop us from trying anyway! :taunt:

Didn't say he didn't want one. He tells us he just can't seem to justify the price versus the capabilities when his Toshiba runs fine for him (at least I think that's what he's got) and is significantly less expensive.
Tom (:macwave:... did I say it right Mick?)

i amit they are good but overpriced for what they are imo, lots of others think not but its just my opinion. i would like one, but wouldnt buy one new and i couldnt go back to anything with a screen less than 17" either so the macbook pro is so out of my price range new

Don't know what brand of speakers are in it but I regularly use mine with iTunes in our office as a replacement for an actual stereo. This is usually during office parties. Christmas, Cinco de Mayo, special events, things like that. And yep, comes with Hi Def video!
Tom (:macwave:... who needs a stereo!)
