How about a mufaletta without the meat? Do you eat cheese? That would be quite tasty and is the original picnic sandwich (courtesy of New Orleans).

 I make this alot during the summer:

Pasta Andrew;

1 pound fresh ripe tomatoes cut in wedges

1 cup(8 ounces) packed fresh basil leaves

2 cloves chopped garlic

2-3 Tbsp. olive oil

8 ounces of Camenzola cheese ( or may substitute brie or fresh parmesian or gargonzola)

salt, pepper

6-8 ounces of cooked hot pasta drained

Place tomatoes, basil, garlic and oil in blender( sometimes I add a good shot of balsamic vinegar too!) Pulse until coarsely chopped but not pureed. Combine cheese and tomatoe mixture in a large bowl and toss with pasta.

If I'm serving it for dinner I use angel hair pasta and serve it right away, If I'm brining it some where I use a small shaped past like orzo and serve it chilled( room temperature is good too!) Pack some nice crusty bread and peaches plus a bottle of wine and you're set!

Egg Mayonaise sandwiches!

We booked to travel at first class so dont think we would be popular passengers if we eat egg mayo sandwiches with other fellow passengers!

M & S do vegetarian sushi. Or if they still do it, their 3 bean wrap is nice. :D

Was going to ask if you eat fish and if you did suggest something to do with tuna - but thats not exactly odourless either is it?!
I cant imagine a picnic without an egg sarnie! How about a bit of quiche instead? You want something that doesnt involve taking up tupperware cus you dont want to be taking all that over there with you - unless of course you take old chinese takeaway tupperware!

Since you are on a train I see nothing at all wrong with egg and mayo. But doesn't First Class train travel in the UK include free food?

Make some feta, rocket & cherry tomato wraps  Co-op do a vegetarian feta using Plant rennet rather than bovine.

A bit of cous-cous is nice too, ooh take a little pot of houmos and some carrot sticks! I could live off houmos! I can vouch for M&S Vegetable samosas, as well as the 3-bean wraps. Fairly high in salt, though :sigh:

God I like food far too much.
