The vet has just called and she has gone down hill drastically in the last 1/2 hour. They and we feel its time to let her go. Dh has gone to be with her as i can not watch another of my babies be put to sleep.

Thank you for all your kind wishes over the last few days.

I am heart broken. The vets are going to do a free post mortum on her as she worries about our other cats

Michelle, so sorry to hear of all these problems. Glad to hear that the vet is going to do the free postmortem to try and see if there is a common thread here so that your other cats might avoid it. :pixiedust::pixiedust::pixiedust::pixiedust::pixie dust::pixiedust:

Oh no, bless you Michelle, that's too much of a coincidence. Does your vet have any ideas? :hug2::hug2::hug2:

Many thanks to you all. We are completely heartbroken. We called into the vets today with our pedigree certificates. She has been fantastic and has done a free post mortem. She is waiting for results from samples that she took. She has said it looks like Tinkerbell was riddled in cancer but will wait for the results. She will now go through the pedigree certificates to see if they are related at all. We do know they all have the same granddad and great grandparents. She thinks apart from Molly the others are all linked and that it is very rare for a 1 year old cat to have such bad insides as she did. They are going to test the food to put our minds at rest. I just hope we have had bad luck as most of my Maine coons are related in one way or another.

Sadly the in-laws have stayed away and have not bothered to see how any of us are. My sil came today but we were very quite on it all as think she was fishing. I have been biting my tounge for quite some time now but i know i am ready to kick off. DH thinks they will stay away as they know they should have taken her vets. We know nothing could have been done but they could have spared her suffering.

Gosh, thats a shock, tinkerbell was so young you wouldnt expect it to be cancer.
Im so sorry again michelle, must be very difficult for you to take in at the moment. As for the in-laws, well id imagine they must be feeling ashamed of themselves, i know i would if i ever did something like that
