ok sooooo I'm keeping my fingers crossed that everything goes through and I get the house. I won't even go into the ridiculous stuff they wanted today from JULY.
Anyway, in the main entryway is this huge cathedral ceiling. Well there is a lot of wall space way up high. I wanted to put something there. I thought of pictures but it's so high you really can't see them.
So I was thinking of a saying with the wall art decals. Example would be below:
However, the room itself is a beach theme. I LOVE the ocean. Any thoughts or sayings about the ocean, water, sea, that come to mind? I can design my own saying.
Or maybe I could do a welcome home kind of sign......
any ideas welcome

some of my favorites
The voice of the sea speaks to the soul. The touch of the sea is sensuous, enfolding the body in its soft, close embrace.- Kate Chopin I could conceivably use just the first line.
For whatever we lose (like a you or a me)
it's always ourselves we find in the sea. - e.e. cummings

I LOVE the idea of those saying decals:yes: I would love to do some of those myself :D
I have a sign where Dh puts his stuff when he comes home and it says "Take a Deep Breath You're Home Now." Hmm..now that I typed it maybe that won't be right in huge print when you walk in the house. Maybe a small one somewhere? It really does make him smile :)
A few quotes I like:
“May your joys be as deep as the ocean, your sorrows as light as its foam.”
"As the ocean is never full of water, so is the heart never full of love”

Believe in the beauty of your dreams.
Happiness is a path, not a destination.

Or this. Little long but...
Home Is the Sailor
Home is the sailor, home from sea:
Her far-borne canvas furled
The ship pours shining on the quay
The plunder of the world.
Home is the hunter from the hill:
Fast in the boundless snare
All flesh lies taken at his will
And every fowl of air.
'Tis evening on the moorland free,
The starlit wave is still:
Home is the sailor from the sea,
The hunter from the hill.
Tom (:macwave:... what do I know about decorating?)

(Traditional,. arranged by Elvis Presley) :elvis:
? "O beautiful for spacious skies
For amber waves of grain
For purple mountain majesties
Above thy fruited plain
God shed His grace on thee
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea......" ?

“Voyage upon life's sea, to yourself be true and whatever your lot may be, paddle your own canoe”
Johnie, what a great idea!! A couple that spring to mind...
"A smooth sea never made a skilled mariner".
" You can't cross the sea merely by standing and staring at the water".
