Hi - do any of the disney resorts have beaches to sunbathe on? I hate just being by the pool :(

The Poly has a beach with hammocks. I've never been on it but lots of people rave about it. Apparently it's a great place to watch Wishes from too.

The wilderness lodge has a small beach too which is apparently great for sun bathing!

the Swan/Dolphin hereby known as the Swolphin, also has a load of sand :)

The Beach Club has a sand beach.

Please though, do not go into the water, ok? There are these discrete little signs, but so many folks ignore them. Summertime is particularly dangerous for "still" water like lakes, ponds, lagoons... when the temperature of the water reaches 80 degrees amoebas develop and they can enter your body through your nose, mouth, eyes... they enter your brain and the result is tragic. There have been several children die of this very thing over recent years. :(

When it's not that hot, there are still 'gators to be wary of. As a trapper once told me, "if it's a body of water in Florida, there is a 'gator in it." Period!

So, enjoy the beach, but do stay clear of the water!
