that is the plan at the weekend - Its cool now we know there is one outside our bedroom window - we can watch cars pull up and rumage in the hedge

we are less worried that they are up to nefarious doings now as well

There's about 7 up at Lancing Ring - nature reserve at top of Lancing - you quite often see people wandering about there studying their GPS and pretending they are walking their dog. I've found 6 of them so far - the last one is driving me potty.

I take it you can use your Tom Tom - pretty sure there is a way to display your coordinates - It was weird - did the postcard searchand it came up with one at our lat and long. ( I know my back garden through the astronomy stuff) - there are about 8 withing a 1 mile radius

Dawn
25-07-2008, 07:59 AM
I've got a handheld Garmin extrex - got it off ebay for 30. Most people use those. Some use their Tom Tom but if you really get into it you're better off getting a handheld one. Then if you get really serious you need climbing gear, ropes, and probably a small boat.

First one I ever found I didn't use anything, just looked on Google Earth and realised I knew the exact tree where it was hidden.

Has been grey and wet the last few days here - we're supposed to be happy because we need the rain, but it makes getting over a cold that much harder.

Had DS at home from school today as he has been poorly again.

But I heard that his passport has been processed and is on the way so we are that much closer to our trip!

Pizza's ordered and wine is chilling - Friday, Friday! :overhere:

mumof2
25-07-2008, 08:49 AM
We're chilling today - i hired the Guitar Heroes 3 for the boys (to test it with a view to buying it for DS nearly 14 birthday) and it's wicked fun, so i expect that's how they'll spend most of the day!

Might pop out to the shops later ~ might not!

If it doesn't rain we'll be off to watch the fireworks tonight that mark the start of the town festival....

:fcracker2::fcracker2::fcracker2:

Tomorrow we have DS nearly 9 birthday party, and on Sunday we'll be at the Custom and American Car show in the town, don't think DH will be showing his though as it still needs lots of work on it! :rolleyes008:

Just about to go food shopping (thrilling!)
Then, I need to prepare a bedroom for the Dragon in Law who is coming to visit for a few days. (more thrills!)

Dawn
25-07-2008, 09:10 AM
Got to tidy up dining room because parents visiting week after next and their dogs will be sleeping in there and one of them is a notorious thief. Took all Steven's toys up to his room and now they're all back downstairs.

Maybe I'll just sit on the sofa and drink coffee today.

I've decided we're having a lazy day today. Dog worn out from last two days, Steven got a hacking cough, I'm apathetic.

Will work on countdown timers and load more trip report. :D

Just finished the house work, making ginger cake and raisin, oat cookies. Dd and dh finish today. Dh has two weeks hols were's dd has 5 and 3/4 weeks holiday.
Hoping to go to Swan pool beach tomorrow as they make lush toated sandwiches, apparently the ice creams are lush as well.
Sunday weather permitting we are going to have a bbq.
My time will be limited on here now due to dd being home. Oh well at least my countdown will look better in September.
We are off to Torquay on tuesday to meet up with my cousin and her family. Their dd is in a wheelchair as well. The girls love spending time together. Last time we saw them Jen annonced her and Beth were going to live together and eat nothing but chocolate

I'm finally going home today. Sheesh, it's been a long week. We are taking the iMac into the Apple shop tomorrow to have it readied for wireless service, and to figure out why leopard wouldn't load.

Probably will try to put the house back together after the painting marathon. :sigh; Will be nice to be in an organized and nicely painted home!

Next week is going to be just as busy as this week, so I'm hoping to have some time to relax some where during this weekend!

We're got the grandson today and tomorrow so Diane can study for finals for her summer classes since her DH got a side job for the weekend. Then on Sunday we're going to start painting in the dinning room and kitchen. How boring is that :rolleyes008:

Tink
25-07-2008, 01:09 PM
That will depend on the weather, Dawn. If it's too wicked hot, then probably not. As much as I love the WS, I don't love it when it's so humid I look like I just stepped out of the pool. :(

Tomorrow I am alternating between Daniels baseball game and our first doggie show at our local park. :D Sunday one of my friends who is leaving the area is having a farewell picnic with lots of famillies going - I will take my tissues as I am really not good at goodbyes and usually turn into an emotional wreck!

Tomorrow we have a "golden ticket" . My very tight skinflint of a BIL has invited us to a bbq. This is a very RARE offer. So me and "the other" (find it very hard sometimes to write DH, as sometimes he just aint a D) and the kidlets are off there. I haven't fed anybody today in preperation of us lot eating them out of house and home.
Sunday paper's , lunch and Ironing. Sadly no "dogging" for me on Sunday.

We have got a fairly quiet weekend planned, we're going to lay some flowers for Dad tomorrow :cry2: it's hard to believe that a whole year has gone by :sigh; and then on Sunday we may, depending on how I feel go and see our friends and the girls.

Tink

Tink
25-07-2008, 04:03 PM
It is? Phooey!

Just think how nicely decorated it could be by Christmas. You'd have loads of time to fiddle with the decorations and get them in just the right spot. The lights would be on the exactly perfect branch.

I'm not so sure I agree with this, "too early" for the tree business. :D
