These mousefest events can be a lot of fun even if you've never been to one before :)

We've got a bunch of MouseFest 2008 news for you this week!

The Mega Mouse Meet, MouseFest's biggest single event, is moving to Disney's Yacht & Beach Club Resort Convention Center! That puts Saturday's big event even closer to the Park of the Day action at Epcot. We're also trying something new this year – we're starting Mega Mouse Meet earlier in the day so that there's more continuous time for other meets at Epcot, Saturday's park of the day. This is how the day looks:

Mega Mouse Meet – Saturday, December 13, 2008
10:00am-11:00am -- Mega Mouse Meet "Extra MouseFest Hour" for registered MouseFest attendees
11:00am – 1:00pm -- Mega Mouse Meet opens to all
1:00pm – park closing -- Epcot Park of the Day activities

We'd like to thank the folks at MEI Travel/MouseFan Travel for making this move to Yacht & Beach Club possible.

Last year's voluntary registration program was a big success! Nearly 800 MouseFest attendees helped underwrite MouseFest's costs, and in return received a variety of valuable benefits. A personalized MouseFest ID, MouseFest lanyard and ID holder, a limited edition MouseFest cloisonné pin, and a printed copy of the 64-page MouseFest Pocket Guide to all MouseFest events were mailed in advance to all registered attendees, so they could get right down to the MouseFest fun as soon as they arrived at MouseFest. Registered Attendees could also attend "Extra MouseFest Hour" at the Mega Mouse Meet, a preview of the event that included light refreshments, and they also received special discount offers from several MouseFest sponsors. Altogether, not bad for $15/person (even less for families and groups traveling together).

For 2008, we expect to open registration about a month earlier than last year – sometime around August 1. Keep your eyes open for the next edition of this newsletter, and it never hurts to pay a visit to the MouseFest web site – http://www.mousefest.org !

Last year, nearly 50 online communities, web sites, authors, podcasts, bloggers, and businesses were part of MouseFest! If you or your organization is interested in playing a part in MouseFest 2008, the 2008 Participation Programs are ready and waiting for you. If you've already contacted us, you'll be receiving your Participation e-mail very soon, and if you haven't contacted us yet, you can drop a line to MouseFest Chairman Dave Marx http://www.mousefest.org/contact.asp The more, the merrier!

As always, http://www.MouseFest.org is the official website of MouseFest. Please visit often for updated information and schedules as we count down to MouseFest. (Site updates reflecting announcements in this newsletter will be made within the next few days -- please bear with us!)

Since you're already reading this, you're already on the e-mail newsletter list for this year. If you have a friend who is interested in joining us this year, ask them to sign up for the newsletter at http://www.mousefest.org/newsletter.asp

Never done this. Has anyone here?

sure have  several years running in fact

They're a great bunch of people. I'm being totally honest and truthful, some of the smaller events can be a LITTLE bit cliquey with people who've known each other FOREVER and then some, but as you know, I'm as shy as shy can get but have always been made to feel very welcome indeed.

We once did a fireworks cruise with them and the CM was one of those really knowledgeable ones that started a quiz. Well we were out there for AGES after the fireworks with the CMs and the mousfest folks batting questions back and forth

It's worth checking out if you're around at that time (which I've just realised I will be!)
