Come on mr Catrancher, we need a detailed review please :D

You mean something a bit more detailed than "ohhh.... shiny"?

Well, patience Grasshopper.

You got any idea how long it takes the Migration Assistant to move 390 GB of stuff.

Well... Neither does it. It keeps jumping around between 5 or 6 hours remaining.

Tom (:macwave:... maybe I should have used CCC.)

but but but we cant wait that long

Tell it to the Migration Assistant.

It's his fault.

Tom(:macwave:... I'm impatient too! And so is my DW!)

Ok. Migration Assistant finally got done late last night. Just finishing up putting the final touches on everything.

So... a detailed review huh?

Ok. Well, it's shiny.... http://dl.dropbox.com/u/75186662/smilies/tracy.gif

Seriously, it seems snappier. Everything seems to happen more suddenly on it. Course, that could be in part to the fact that it's a fresh install and so there's probably not a lot of disk seeks going on.

It's slicker (if you know what I mean) than my other one. Everything seems more "together". No visible screw heads (from the top). That sort of thing. Probably due to the unibody design in some way but the thing still feels like a tank. Rock solid.

I like the keyboard real well compared to my previous Macbook Pro. Much more tactile feel and these keys have a definitive gap between them so your fingers don't run any risk of wondering if they're on a key or not.

The screen. Interesting. Wasn't sure about the glossy screen at first. However, now that I've had a chance to use it for a bit, I like it better. Seems brighter and easier to read. I'll have to check it out with some pictures and videos but right now, I'm glad I got the glossy screen. :taunt: FWIW, the screen also "seems" larger. More real estate. Even though I've got the resolution set the same as it was on my previous Macbook Pro.

So, all in all, I'm quite pleased. Just about finished getting my DW's Macbook Pro rebuilt also. So, now she'll be up on an Intel platform.

Only downside is now she can Facetime me anytime she wants!

Tom (:macwave:... happy updated Macbook Pro owner!)
