So anyone got an opinion on this? I know it's a preorder and I'm sorely tempted, when it says waterproof to 3m presuming it would be ideal for discovery cove? Daniel will be in charge of it for the holiday

That would certainly do the job at Discovery Cove, might have to get one myself.

Have you looked at the current model (Zx3) though, there are a few differences but it is nearly half the price.

Funny you should say that I just ordered that model. Couldn't see what woukd be worth 60 more. When it arrives will post some video

Cool, the only differences are the new model is also dust proof, has macro function and easier social network sharing options.

It looks like the best general filming option is 720p 60fps.

Will be really interested to see what you think

Not sure which model we used but I got very nice results from the camera in Puerto Rico and on our cruise. I would recommend it with one reservation....make sure you take time to be certain both compartment doors are REALLY closed.

Three teachers went to PR each of my buddies had one to use (they were purchased for science classes to use). One of the three failed the waterproof test on the reef. I attribute it to operator error but you never know.

I uploaded a video taken with the camera here:

Thing is we didn't keep opening up the compartments and there is signs of water ingress, I have some videos but not others, thank goodness I have the discovery cove ones or I'd be gutted!

Does shoot in 1080 P and looks terrific but you had better get a large memory card for it when shooting in HD.

It does a decent job as a 5 mega pixel still too. All and all for aroun $110 US not a bad little camera.

It is a good size to take along, about the same size as a cell phone. Only gripe I have is like a cell phone, hard to see the screen in bright sunshine.
